Originating from the Xietu Street in Xuhui District, the "Sunshine has drama" opera brand has been established for three years. On the evening of September 24, the third "Sunway with Opera" Opera Culture Festival in 2021 opened at Wanping Theatre, and in the coming month, the cross-border experiences of "Xiqu + Party Class", "Xiqu + Night Market", "Xiqu + Exhibition", "Xiqu + Coffee", "Xiqu + Experience" and "Xiqu + Volunteer" will be staged one after another, boosting the breakthrough of opera art and allowing the people to continue to feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The opening performance was a star-studded performance. Peking Opera performance master Shang Changrong recited "Qinyuan Spring Snow", a magnificent and heroic interpretation, conveying the patriotic feelings of Peking Opera artists. Dao Ma Dan famous Gu Haohao and the well-known dancer Huang Doudou were once sisters and brothers, and on the night of the performance, they cooperated in a Kun opera "Borrowing Fan". In 2019, led by the Xuhui District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, The "Papago Opera Heritage Base" was established in Xietu Street. Relying on the resource platform of Shanghai Xiqu Art Center and Shanghai Dramatists Association, it brings together the strength of 6 municipal state-owned opera theater troupes from Beijing, Kunming, Shanghai, Yue, Huai, and Pingtan to create a "Sunway Opera" opera cultural brand with great influence, high logo and wide coverage.
Chen Lei, deputy director of the Xietu Road Street Office, told reporters that the name "Sunlight Has Drama" has a lot of origin. "Sunway" originates from the characteristic place names of The Diagonal Earth Papago Port, the Papago Cinema (now the Xietu Community Cultural Center), the Papago New Village Primary School, the Papago Hospital (now the Xietu Street Community Health Service Center), and the Six Villages of the Sunway. These landmarks, marked by "sunlight", also represent the memories of generations of Shanghainese in the region. "'Sunlight has a play' is not only the promotion of opera, but also the inheritance of regional history and the memory of the years." Chen Lei said.
Today, the sloping earth street has regained the memory of "Sunlight", and "Sunshine has a play" has also become a key project of the community cultural festival that attracts many famous artists to participate and radiates Shanghai. What is more noteworthy is that in order to arouse the attention of more young people and young audiences to traditional opera, "Sunshine Opera" has also expanded many cultural and creative derivative activities, so that the inheritance of history has a new wave of expression.
The reporter noted that outside the theater space, the organizers of this year's "Sunshine With Drama" specially designed a cultural and creative corridor, and the spokesperson of the Opera Culture Festival, "Harmonic Rabbit", was very eye-catching. This cute cartoon image is taken from the harmonic sound of "oblique earth", from image design, WeChat emoji production, to various characteristic cultural and creative designs, including sea bricks, blind boxes, refrigerator stickers, postcards, coasters, U disks, etc., opera elements are integrated into a wealth of peripheral products.
Not far from the Wanping Theater, in the Poly Time of Diagonal Street, the new era civilization practice point, the opera punch card art installation has also been completed. In the following month, citizens and tourists can encounter the pop-up performances of opera actors here, as well as opera scenes and opera elements flashing in and out of the mall from time to time. "The opera punch point will run through the entire Xiqu Cultural Festival, and through the integration of culture, commerce and tourism, the shopping mall will also become an open 'theater'." At the opening ceremony, the "Papago Has Drama" Promotion Ambassador Awarding Ceremony and the Signing Ceremony of the "Papago Opera" New Era Civilization Practice Opera Grand Alliance were held simultaneously. Shang Changrong, Gu Haohao, Zhang Jingxian, Mao Shanyu, Qian Huili, Liang Weiping, Gao Bowen, Huang Doudou and other artistic masters have become a new batch of "Sunway with Drama" promotion ambassadors, and will cultivate a group of new opera fans in the community to promote the high-quality development of civilization practice in the new era.
