When the exquisite and elegant opera art meets the cutting-edge 3D panoramic sound technology, what kind of spark will be generated? Last year, the Peking Opera film "Zhenguan Event" produced by Shanghai won the Best Opera Film Award at the 33rd Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards, and Guangying also inserted a pair of wings for traditional Chinese culture. With the National Day approaching, the film will meet the audience for the first time after winning the award, and from now until October 7, it will land in 20 theaters in Shanghai, including Shanghai Daguang Cinema, Duoyunxuan Dolby Atmos Cinema and Caoyang Cinema, for 15 consecutive days, with a total of 100 screenings planned.
The movie "Zhenguan Event" takes "Respecting the Ancients and Not Muddying the Ancients" and "Innovation Without Losing The Sect" as the creative crosshairs, directed by Teng Junjie, starring the famous Peking Opera performance artists Shang Changrong, Guan Dongtian, Xia Huihua, Zhu Shihui, Chen Shaoyun, etc., using 3D live-action and panoramic sound technology combined production, reinterpreting classic stories with innovative means, and making original explorations of the combination of opera and film.
At the opening ceremony held on September 23, Shang Changrong could not help but think of the scene of the 1999 Peking Opera "Zhenguan Event", which was immediately popular in the north and south of the river after the stage version performance, won many national awards, and has performed more than 100 times so far, obtained extensive social effects, and has become one of the representative works of the new screenwriting of the Shanghai Peking Opera House. In 2016, the play launched a heritage version, and a group of outstanding young actors from the Shanghai Peking Opera House took over the classic version of the baton, and toured Shanghai, Beijing and other places from 2016 to 2018.
"In this film, there is the artist's passionate love for peking opera art and the spirit of excellence," Teng Junjie especially shared the small details of the filming. In late June 2018, "Zhenguan Event" was launched at the Chedun Film and Television Base of Shanghai Film Group. It was a sweltering heat, but in order to ensure the artistic quality of the film, Shang Changrong personally played in more than a month of shooting, and Shang's old stand-in unexpectedly became the most idle person on the set. Once, Shang Changrong accidentally fell, and without waiting for the staff to help him, the old artist had already stood up on his own and simply said: "Continue to play." ”
From the two-and-a-half-hour stage version to the 120-minute film version, "Zhenguan Event" has experienced a lot of challenges. To this end, the main creative team fully absorbed the opinions of experts, clarified the characters and plot, and highlighted the key points. For example, the characters are concentrated on the conflict between Wei Zheng and Li Shimin due to the extravagance and hegemony of the eldest son, abandoning polo, riding horses and irrelevant song and dance scenes, etc., making the dramatic conflict of the whole story more intense, the plot is reversed layer by layer, everywhere foreshadowing, shooting according to the psychological rhythm of movie viewing, so that the audience can get a sense of satisfaction that is not on the stage.
