Feng Yong: Zhang Xueliang's brother, reading his will before his death, is also ashamed of himself!

The name Feng Yong is now unfamiliar to many Chinese people, but when studying modern history, we must not forget it! He was a "strange man who gave away his family wealth for great things"

Feng Yong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Northeast Xingyuan Political Affairs Committee, was the eldest son of the Warlord Feng Delin. Graduated from the Beijing Army Lecture Hall. Zhang Zuolin and Feng Delin were close friends, Feng Yong and Zhang Xueliang were born in the same year, the two once worshiped brothers, and took the same character "Han Qing".

In 1926, after Feng Delin's death, Feng Yong continued his father's military service, and then he joined the Air Force of the Republic of China, with the rank of lieutenant general. He believed that the main reason for China's internal and external troubles at that time was industrial backwardness, "industry rejuvenated the country, first cultivated talents", so he took out almost all the family property of the Feng family and began to establish Feng Yong University. It is not only the first Western-style university in China.

Generally speaking, Feng Yong and his father were considered warlords by some. However, Feng Yong University, founded by Feng Yong at his own expense, is not only the first Western-style university in China, but also the first university with a military teaching aircraft and an airport, and it is completely free, so his righteous deeds are also admired by the people of Northeast China.

Feng Yong's purpose of running the school is to "create the youth of new China", that is, to cultivate new young people with new ideas and traditions to defend the country and build the country. Feng Yong's educational thinking has three: First, the "eight virtues and eight righteousnesses," which are filial piety, compassion, loyalty, faithfulness, courtesy, righteousness, honesty, and shame; and the "eight virtues" are righteous deeds, righteous karma, righteous thinking, righteous speech, square face, right listening, upright morality, and right tolerance. The second is "equal access to education." The third is "industrial salvation of the country." At that time, in the face of the grim reality of the Japanese invaders' pursuit of enslavement education, he proposed the "Eight Virtues and Eight Truths," that is, to arm the young people's thinking and spirit with the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, so as to resist Japan's cultural aggression.

Feng Yong stipulated that in addition to the courses that should be taught in the classroom, everyone should receive military training, practice forced exercise for one hour every day, and even if the snow is heavy in winter, students must sit in the snow and practice repeatedly to enhance students' physical fitness and cultivate their spirit of bearing hardships and standing hard work. At that time, the people of Shenyang compared Feng Yong University with the two military camps of Dong daying and Beidaying, calling it "West Camp".

After the "9.18" incident, the normal order of Feng Yong University was seriously damaged. Rikou rushed into Feng Yong University, took the principal Feng Yong under house arrest, and ransacked the classrooms and dormitories. That night, most of the teachers and students withdrew to Beiping in an organized manner. After the occupation of Feng Yong University, it was converted into an aircraft repair test airfield (later a gliding airport).

Feng Yong: Zhang Xueliang's brother, reading his will before his death, is also ashamed of himself!

After Feng Yong was detained by the Japanese army, he was first placed under house arrest at the Yamato Hotel, but failed to persuade him to surrender, and then abducted to Tokyo. Later, Feng Yong escaped from Hukou with the help of a friend, took a detour from Shanghai back to Beiping, and continued to preside over feng Yong's university affairs. In November 1931, the Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army of Feng Yong University was established.

In 1948 to Taiwan, Feng Yong's later life was very rigorous, even a little monotonous and boring, he scorned the atmosphere of social paper drunkenness, and even taught students not to be corrupt and degenerate, it was such a somewhat stubborn old man, at the age of seventy, he wrote down 15 wills, sorted out his life, and also arranged his own affairs properly.

"Born in chaos, blunt and unsuccessful, the people's morality is getting worse and worse, and the hidden dangers are endless." When Zren often disintegrated, I was buried under the steps of my mother's grave, and my heart was at ease. This is the beginning of his will.

Article 2: "Yu Zeng was loyal to the country and aimed at honesty and justice; He also did his best to filial piety to the nation and taught with shame. ”

Article 4: "After the aftermath, no obituary, no notice, no memorial service, no gift, especially no publication of life and deeds." In Article 10, he was instructed to be buried within ten hours and within twenty-four hours until his death. Such a person who is indifferent to fame and fortune is really admirable.

Feng Yong's later life was not rich, and part of the living expenses were donated by students, and Article 5 of the will reads: "Yu Zhi is advanced, all of which are gifts from relatives and friends, and are entrusted to Chuncheng Brother (Huachuncheng, Feng Yong University students) ... Xu Bangyou (a student of Feng Yong University) should be reimbursed for two thousand US dollars. ”

The two thousand US dollars here are the living expenses that Xu Bangyou gives to Feng Yong every year. In addition, Feng Yong also asked Huachuncheng to repay the property donated by others as much as possible, "other grants cannot be repaid, and the remaining 30,000 or 40,000 Taiwan dollars will be used for burial in coffins." ”

All calculated, Feng Yong's family property is only 120,000 to 30,000 Taiwan dollars.

Why is Feng Yong so bitter? If you really want to find the reason, you can only blame Feng Yong himself. At the age of 60, he was idle at home, when Chen Chengtuo was arranged to be a director of the Taiwan Electric Power Company, but he refused, because according to the company's regulations, his age was no longer eligible, and Feng Yong, who had been rigorous all his life, naturally refused to accept it.

In desperation, the power company finally hired Feng Yong as a consultant, and Feng Yong agreed.

Recalling the incident in his will, he wrote: "The monthly payment is given to thousands... Thank you for saving your life and helping the poor, and the death is unforgettable! ”

Feng Yong: Zhang Xueliang's brother, reading his will before his death, is also ashamed of himself!

In article 14 of his will, he asked the student Charles Kang to write a tombstone inscription for himself, and in the last one, Feng Yong hand-picked 9 people to take care of his funeral, except for the fourth brother, all of whom were students of Feng Yong University. It can be seen that his feelings with his students also come from his inseparable feelings for education.

Why did Feng Yong ask the students to take care of the aftermath? This is the regret of his later years.

After Feng Yong's children graduated from high school, they were sent to the United States by their mother Long Wenbin to study and settled in the United States. For him, grumble! In his later years, the students were the protagonists, and the property was entrusted to the custody of the students.

Therefore, he specifically wrote in his will: "Children in the United States do not need to be notified, they are not Chinese, and they do not have to know Chinese." It can be seen that his patriotic complex has made many people now ashamed.

In 1981, the venerable old man died in Taipei.
