The way of employing Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Gao, pardoned one person and killed one person, laying the foundation of the Han Dynasty for four hundred years

Ji Bu was once Xiang Yu's subordinate, with outstanding ability, very faithful, and left an allusion to a promise of thousands of gold. Liu Bang repeatedly lost to Ji Bu's hands, and his heart was very resentful. After Xiang Yu's defeat, Liu Bang offered a reward of thousands of gold to arrest Jibu. Ji Bu concealed his identity and hid in the home of a large family named Zhu in Shandong. The Zhu family admired Ji Bu very much and wanted to help Ji Bu get rid of his crimes, so they turned to Xiahou Bao, the Duke of Toteng, to advise Liu Bang: "When Chu and Han are in contention, each of them is their master, and Ji Bu is only doing his duty as a subject. Can't you kill all of Xiang Yu's subordinates? Now the emperor has just taken over the world to vent his personal grievances, and his mind is too narrow- With Jibu's talents, if he defects to the enemy country, he will be in trouble. At xiahou's advice, Liu Bang pardoned Ji Bu and granted him the high-ranking official Houlu. Liu Bang treated Ji Bu with virtue to complain, and in stark contrast to the fact that there is grace and no retribution. Duke Ding was also a subordinate of Xiang Yu and besieged Liu Bang on the battlefield. Liu Bang begged Ding Gong to release himself, so Ding Gong led his troops to retreat. After Xiang Yu failed, Ding Gong came to see Liu Bang and asked for merit. Liu Bang dragged Ding Gong to the military camp and beheaded him to show the public, in order to set an example, as a courtier, he could not tolerate having two hearts. Xiang Yu had such a half-hearted courtier as Ding Gong under his command, and it was no wonder that he ended up with a Wujiang self-murder. Liu Bang put aside his personal grudges and formed a clear difference in his attitude toward the two, showing Liu Bang's way of employing people: loyalty is a valuable character, employing people is not doubtful, suspicious people are not used, as subordinates must be loyal and reliable, must not be apes, half-hearted. Trees are tall and leafy, tied to deep roots, and the most fundamental problem is the problem of value orientation. History and practice have fully proved that only by establishing a correct orientation in selecting and employing people can we think with one heart and make great efforts to one place, which is an important guarantee for condensing strength and achieving careers. The two Han Dynasties were able to last for four hundred years, and Liu Bang's guidance of selecting and employing people was indispensable, and even when Cao Wei usurped the Han Dynasty, there were still a large number of loyal subjects like Xun Yu and Ji Ping who were related to the Han Chamber.
