Because I work as a teacher of basic art, books related to "beauty" will interest me.
After reading this book, I finally understood the pursuit of the heroes who played the overwhelming number of heroes in Western movies for their muscle-tangled bodies. Perhaps Western culture comes from this lifelike sculpture that represents their most simple feelings and sustenance. The book also features a wealth of paintings and sculptures by other masters.
We in the East are born introverted, and in the face of unsatisfactory life, ordinary people can only pin their hopes and emotions on the future and artistic conception. So history has left a lot of precious ink remains. The West, on the other hand, was extremely obsessed with the individual, for the three-dimensional, and for color, so history left them with a bunch of oil paintings and a variety of sculptures.
