According to reports, the sports icons of this group of seals combine calligraphy and engraving through the calligraphic brushwork embodied in the blade and the high and wonderful cloth white between the square inches, conveying the long tradition and vivid charm spanning thousands of years, showing "between the square inches, the weather is ever-changing". Gao Gongbo said that the connotation of his works echoes the concept of the emblem of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, "China Seal", reflecting the "City of the Two Olympics" and the inheritance of Olympic culture.

Born in Yueqing in 1949, Gao Gongbo is an expert who enjoys government subsidies from the State Council, a national non-hereditary inheritor, a master of handicrafts in the Asia-Pacific region, a master of Chinese arts and crafts, a master tutor of the Chinese Academy of Arts of the Ministry of Culture, and a special researcher of Zhejiang Museum.
