The drone "Little Q" flew too high, looking up, like a bird thrown into the sky. After graduating from university in 2021, he chose to enter the power industry with both challenges and opportunities, and his daily work is mainly responsible for the operation and maintenance of converter stations, and his thoughts all day long are about this UHV converter station that transmits nearly 130 million kWh of electricity per day - ±800KV UHV Zhongzhou converter station.
"Personally, I am obsessed with artificial intelligence technology, and I want to become a 'technology stream' as soon as possible from the day I go to work, so that I can do something to make the operation and maintenance of the power grid more 'smart' and efficient. With the help of 'Little Q', my dream quickly became a reality. Zheng Jinyu said.
Severe convective weather is one of the most stressful moments for power people. A special inspection experience made Zheng Jinyu remember it vividly.
One day in October 2023, Zhengzhou was hit by extremely strong convective weather, and the temperature plummeted by nearly 15 degrees Celsius overnight. Early the next morning, looking at the leaves swept away by the wind in the station, Zheng Jinyu couldn't help but worry about the equipment in the station. It just so happened that the reminder of the predecessors sounded in my ears: "When the temperature changes sharply, the expansion joint of the GIS tubular bus is very prone to stress changes, so we should quickly check the scale of the expansion joint to see if there is any exceedance." ”
Zheng Jinyu understands that this sudden abnormal weather has brought a lot of tests to the equipment in the station, especially those GIS tubular buses, which undertake the important task of power transmission, and once there is a problem, the consequences are unimaginable.

The operation and maintenance team quickly organized personnel and planned to conduct a comprehensive inspection of all tubular bus expansion joints.
This is a laborious and delicate task. In the past, such inspections required the cooperation of multiple people, holding heavy cameras, to record the 345 expansion joints of the station one by one. Not only is it inefficient, but due to angle and light issues, it is often difficult to clearly reflect the real situation of the expansion joint. Stabilize the panic and nervousness in your heart, the drone shuttles flexibly in the air, and under the lens, every detail of the expansion joint is clearly visible. Zheng Jinyu kept dialing the joystick and slowly adjusted the position and angle of the drone to ensure that every important image could be captured. When the drone landed safely, Zheng Jinyu felt that the boulder hanging in his heart also fell to the ground.
