According to the setting of "Death Parade", two people who died at the same time will temporarily forget their memories and go through the elevator to the Dekim Bar. The white-haired bartender Dekim will send out invitations to the two to play a game of death, and as the game progresses, the memories of their lives begin to recover.
The bartender Dekim's task is to judge by observing the nature of the two people gradually exposed due to the recovery of their memories. In the end, it is decided that one party will be reincarnated in heaven, while the other party will fall into hell and nothingness, and will not be reincarnated for eternity.
The subject matter of the story itself is not outstanding, but I only watched two episodes and was completely shocked.
The newlyweds Ryu and Machiko, who come to Dekim's bar because of the accident, are forced by Dekim to play a game of death under conditions that are completely confused about the situation.
The rules of the game are simple, two people each have seven darts to throw at each other, and the corresponding ring area will get the corresponding subtraction points, and the initial score of both of them is 510 points. It is not until the last dart is thrown that the side with the closest score to zero wins.
Interestingly, the dart target is marked with a body part and connected to the nerve, hitting the corresponding position of the dart plate, the other party will feel pain.
And just like that, the first round of the game of death begins.
The two men who avoided the target projection to avoid pain were finally left with the last few darts. Long, who did not want to die, hit the throat on the target plate under the pressure of his heart, and then Machiko immediately failed to control the strength of his hand because of the severe pain, and stuck the dart in the eye area.
The contradictions and conflicts between the two broke out with the first round of memory recovery, and the misunderstandings and contradictions that had not been clearly explained before their deaths were able to be blamed and cathartic at this moment after death.
In the end, Dekim makes a ruling on the two of them – but the human Zhixing, who is also the adjudicator, gives a different view than Dekim, believing that Machiko ultimately chose to lie for her husband's sake.
When the emotionless Dekim asked Machiko why she lied, Chiyuki gave the following answer: "It is to eliminate some of Long's guilt of killing his own children, even if it will make Long hate himself." Does she want to cherish her heart in the end? ”
In order to free her husband, Machiko single-handedly bore all the misunderstandings.
This period touched me a lot at that time. Is the judgment reasonable? Obviously unreasonable. "Good people go to heaven when they die, and bad people go to hell when they die." This kind of thinking seems to have taken root in our minds since childhood.

But why is there such an outcome? For the Adjudicator is not Almighty God either.
They can never understand human beings without feelings and the experience of death; and when they have feelings, they are disturbed by reason, so they can never make an absolutely fair judgment.
Cloaked in the cloak of darkness, this work evaluates and judges human nature, and seemingly rulings on ordinary people invisibly guides the audience to think and feel about the topic of "living".
It is worth mentioning that there are also two Chinese people involved in the production of this work, one of which is also the painting supervision of the first two episodes, which also reflects its strong technology.
The work itself is a production plan to cultivate new people, but from the beginning to the end, there is no obvious painting or plot collapse, whether it is the action of the characters or the advancement of the plot. BGM "Moonlit Night" composed by Lin Youshu runs through the whole work, which makes people sound very emotional.
