Several other Red Army routes also successively joined northern Shaanxi, known in history as huining division.
According to historical records, the Long March of the Red Army was mainly divided into four units, the first of which was the Red Army from Ruijin, covering a distance of 25,000 kilometers. The second was the Red 25th Army, which set out from He Jiachong in Luoshan, Henan, and traveled thousands of miles. The third was the Red Fourth Front, which traveled thousands of miles from the Sichuan-Shaanxi Su District. The fourth was the Red Second Front, led by General He Laozong, starting from Liu jiaping in Sangzhi, Hunan Province, and traveling 20,000 kilometers. Of these four units, the first to reach northern Shaanxi to meet Liu Zhidan was the Red 25th Army.
The Red 25th Army is a legendary unit on the Long March, and when the other route armies were frantically surrounded and suppressed by the enemy, they suffered heavy losses and halved their wounds. However, the Red 25th Army was able to achieve no reduction in personnel on the Long March road, successfully reached northern Shaanxi, and the number increased by 800 people, which is a miracle. Of course, during this long march of thousands of miles, Wu Huanxian, political commissar of the Red 25 Army, died heroically, including Cheng Zihua, the chief and deputy commanders of the army, and Xu Haidong was also wounded many times. It is precisely because on the road of the Long March, the political commissar, commander, deputy commander and other people of the Red 25 Army personally came to the front line and bravely killed the enemy with the soldiers.
At the same time, during the Long March, the top ten famous generals who came out of the Red 25th Army later became famous brave generals of the major field armies on the liberation battlefield.
Cheng Zihua (later political commissar), commander of the Red 25th Army, was an outstanding military commander, and during the Long March he led the Red 25th Army to break through the enemy's layers of defensive lines, winning one battle after another, and successfully bringing the Red 25th Army to northern Shaanxi, contributing to the commander of this unit, Cheng Zihua. During the Liberation War, Cheng Zihua became an indispensable general on the northeast battlefield. Participating in the whole process of liberating the northeast, in the battle against the enemy, his military talent has been well exerted and recognized by his superiors.
Xu Haidong, deputy commander of the Red 25th Army (later served as a military commander), was also a brave general. During the Red Army period, it was because of the bravery in fighting on the battlefield that it was called Xu Tiger. Although he did not participate in the Liberation War, he was still awarded the rank of general after the founding of the People's Republic of China, which shows how much General Xu Haidong made to the revolution.
Chen Xianrui, a general of the Red 25th Army, joined the Red Army at the age of 15, and served as the squadron leader of the Red 25th Army Pistol Regiment during the Long March because of his bravery in the battlefield. Han Xianchu, a top general who came out of the Red 25th Army, was an indispensable fierce general on the northeast battlefield during the Liberation War. On the battlefields of northeast China, north China, south China and other regions, he has left his figure. In the battle against the reactionaries, General Han Xianchu won more victories and defeats, won the title of God of War, and also won the praise of the nationalist generals Liao Yaoxiang, Wei Lihuang and others. At the same time, he is also the first founding general in the history of our army to personally lead his troops to cross the sea to liberate Hainan Island, and create a model for cross-sea operations.
Liu Zhen, commander of the Second Column of the Northeast Field Army, which annihilated the largest number of enemies, was also a famous general who came out of the Red 25th Army. It should be known that in the heyday of the Northeast Field Army, there were 12 columns, and the commander of each column was a general of a hundred battles, and each column was a division of tigers and wolves. Zhang Chiming is also a famous general who came out of the Red 25 Army. During the Liberation War, he served as the political commissar of the 16th Division of the Sixth Column of the Northeast Field Army, and was a general of both culture and martial arts. After three battles in the South of the Jiangsu Andibao Linjiang, summer, autumn and winter offensive operations, Liaoshen Campaign, Pingjin Campaign, Crossing the River Campaign, Xianggan Campaign, Guangdong Campaign, Guangxi Campaign, sea crossing operation to liberate Hainan Island and other battles.
Zhan Danan, a guard at the side of General Xu Haidong, also became a brave general in battle after experiencing a series of war baptisms. Especially in the Campaign to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he led his troops to completely annihilate 1 reinforced regiment of the enemy army (known as the "Polar Bear Regiment"), creating a model example of completely annihilating 1 reinforced regiment of the enemy army in one battle on the battlefield of aiding Korea... But what made him most memorable was the scene that killed Niu Yuanfeng that year. This was the first annihilation battle fought in northern Shaanxi after the Red 25th Army arrived in northern Shaanxi under the wise command of Grandpa Mao.
Zhang Wanxin, the platoon leader of the traffic team of the Red 25th Army, experienced the tempering of the war, making him a general in a hundred battles. He served as the commander of the 117th Division of the 39th Army, and later experienced the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and in the Battle of Hengcheng, the 117th Division annihilated 3,350 enemy and captured 2,500 enemy, of which 800 were U.S. troops, creating a record for the highest number of enemies annihilated by one division in a single battle on the battlefield of aiding Korea.
