In 1955, Han Xianchu recalled the old political commissar: If he lived to this day, he would have achieved great things

Han Xianchu was a famous general of our army, and he fought in the south and the north in his life without any defeat. During his long and colorful military career, he partnered with many political commissars. Among them, the most memorable of this was his old superior, Wu Huanxian, who served as the political commissar of the Red 25 Army. In 1955, when the title was awarded, Han Xianchu was awarded the rank of general. After the awarding ceremony, Han Xianchu, who was touched by the scenery, remembered his old superior Wu Huanxian again, and said with emotion: If the political commissar lived until now, he would have achieved great things.

Wu Huan was first a native of Xinyang, Henan, and his father was a small local landowner with a relatively wealthy family. Wu Huan first embraced revolutionary ideas when he was in middle school, and soon after he persuaded his father to give most of the family's land to the sharecroppers and farm workers who had no land to grow, and formed a peasant association to fight against the disadvantages of the local local tycoons. Wu Huanxian's actions won the enthusiastic support of the poor people, but the local tycoons regarded them as a thorn in their side, and they united to take revenge on Wu Huanxian's family, and Wu Huanxian's family of six was brutally killed.

Enduring the great grief of losing his loved ones, Wu Huanxian pulled up a team of civilian troops to fight the enemy, was elected director of the organization department of the Huang'an County CPC Committee, and soon led his troops to participate in the jute uprising. After the defeat of the uprising, Wu Huanxian led his troops to persist in fighting guerrillas with the enemy in the jute area and the southern part of Guangshan, and eventually created the Chaishan Bao Revolutionary Base Area, which was also the first revolutionary base area in the Eyu-Anhui Su District. In 1931, Wu Huanxian became the director of the Political Department of the 12th Division of the Red Fourth Army, and followed the troops in many bloody battles with the enemy in the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Area.

After the main force of the Red Fourth shifted to the Sichuan-Shaanxi area, Wu Huanxian remained in Dabie Mountain to continue the struggle, and he organized the scattered guerrillas, rebuilt the Red 25th Army, and served as the commander. After that, he commanded his troops to fight three battles and three victories in Guojiahezi, Panjiahezi and Yangsizhai, annihilating thousands of enemy troops and gaining momentum. After that, the enemy stepped up the siege of the Red 25th Army, and Wu Huanxian led his troops to skillfully jump out of the enemy's encirclement, directly behind the enemy, and marched more than 200 miles in a hurry, attacking luotian county and capturing more than 7,000 pieces of ocean in one fell swoop.

Soon the enemy gathered heavy troops for a counterattack, and the Red Army withdrew from Luotian. More than 7,000 pieces of ocean were scattered in dozens of small bags, handed over to grass-roots cadres to carry, and Han Xianchu was also ordered to carry a bag of oceans to break through. During the battle, the ocean bag on Han Xianchu's back was broken by the enemy, and the ocean spilled on the ground. After the war, Han Xianchu was dismissed from his post because he lost the ocean and was punished to carry a stretcher. After Wu Huan first learned of this, he believed that the punishment for Han Xianchu was too heavy, and if the ocean was lost, it could be captured again, and a good seedling could not be lost. Therefore, he did not let Han Xianchu carry a stretcher, but let him go to Li Xuexian's camp as a platoon leader.

In April 1934, the Red 28th Army led by Xu Haidong joined the ranks of the Red 25th Army, with Xu Haidong as the commander and Wu Huan as the political commissar. Under the command of Xu Haidong and Wu Huanxian, the Red 25th Army fought against the enemy many times in northeastern Hubei and northwestern Anhui, with good results. The development and growth of the Red 25th Army caused panic among the enemy and mobilized heavy troops to besiege. Faced with an unfavorable situation, the Red 25th Army decided to march. On November 26, 1934, the Red 25th Army came to the town of Dushu and was ambushed by an enemy infantry brigade and a cavalry regiment, and the situation was very critical. Wu Huan first drew a large knife and led the warriors to fight with the enemy's white blade, forcing a bloody road.

In the battle of Dushu Town, Han Xianchu's performance was also very outstanding, and he was praised by the political commissar Wu Huanxian, who also praised him as "Only Chu has talent, and Xianchu is an example!" ”。 After that, the Red 25th Army continued to the north and created the Eyu-Shaanxi Soviet District, which was also the only revolutionary base area created during the Red Army's Long March. At that time, Xu Baoshan was the secretary of the Eyu-Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, and Wu Huanxian was the deputy secretary, and soon after Xu Baoshan died of illness, Wu Huanxian acted as the secretary of the Eyu-Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee. At that time, the Red Fourth and the Central Red Army had already met the division in western Sichuan. The Red 25th Army belongs to the Red Fourth Sequence, so many people hope to go south to meet the main forces of the Red Fourth.

Soon after, the Central Red Army moved north, and the red four main forces went south, and Wu Huanxian and Xu Haidong decided to go north to join the Central Red Army. On August 21, 1935, the Red 25th Army was attacked by the majia army cavalry while crossing the river in the village of Sipo in Jingchuan, Gansu, and during the fierce battle, Wu Huanxian was unfortunately hit by enemy bullets and died heroically, at the age of 28. Wu Huanxian participated in the jute uprising, founded the first revolutionary base area in the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Region, and served as the commander and political commissar of the Red 25th Army. If it is not prematurely sacrificed, when the 55-year grand title is awarded, it is likely to lock in the seat of a major general. Therefore, Han Xianchu would sigh when he conferred the title: If the political commissar had lived until now, he would have achieved great things.
