Soon it was time for dinner, and Han Xianchu stayed at Min Yongjin's house, eating a home-cooked meal with his childhood playmate and listening to him talk about the problems in the lives of local farmers.
Before leaving Wujiazui, Han Xianchu explained all the problems reflected by the villagers to the leaders of the county party committee one by one, and instructed them to listen carefully to the opinions of the peasants and actually solve their living difficulties.
Six years later, Han Xianchu, who was nearly an old man, retreated to the second line due to physical reasons, and after a little rest, he returned to his haunted hometown. On the way back, he was very excited, lamenting that the first time he came home was on horseback, and now he was riding in a car and telling the staff with him about his past of cattle herding and fighting when he was a child.

In fact, this time back to his hometown, Han Xianchu not only came to visit his fellow villagers, but also determined to help his hometown get rid of poverty, and to let the villagers live a good life of full food, warm clothing, and surplus.
Therefore, in the days of Wu Jiazui's inspection, Han Xianchu insisted that he go to the homes of every villager to see, carefully ask them about their living conditions and production harvest, and record every difficult problem. Although he had relieved himself of the heavy burden of the commander of the military region, he still had his heart set on the development of the country and the people, and seeing that there were still unsatisfactory places in his hometown, he wanted to investigate other villages and conduct more in-depth and comprehensive investigations.

After Min Yongjin and Wu Haizhou braved the heavy snow to come, Han Xianchu was very unhappy in his heart.
He saw Haizhou wearing a worn-out military coat, while Yongjin was thinly dressed, sitting on the stove for half a day still shivering, and their hands were full of frostbite.
The battle-hardened iron general had never shed tears when he was injured, but he wet his eyes when he saw this. Han Xianchu got up and took off his leather coat, draped it on Yongjin's body, and said, "Yongjin, I gave you this coat." Min Yongjin hurriedly resigned, and the staff also hurriedly dissuaded him, afraid that the general's body would be cold.
But Han Xianchu still insisted on giving the coat to Yongjin, and he was silent for a long time without speaking.

After returning to Beijing, Han Xianchu reported to the organization on his inspection, put forward many specific measures to solve the problem of poverty in the rural areas, and also suggested that the families of military martyrs and veterans who had difficulties in living should be appropriately increased in living subsidies, and the problems of production machinery such as tractors and bulldozers were solved for the production team in his hometown. After solving these problems, he fulfilled his promise and invited Min Yongjin and others to visit their homes in Beijing, taking them on a tour of the capital's places of interest and monuments, and leaving precious images in Tiananmen.
Later, Han Xianchu left many sequelae due to his perennial conquest of the body, and he successively traveled between the villages to investigate, and his physical condition deteriorated every day.
On October 3, 1986, he died in Beijing due to ineffective medical treatment. On May 18 of the following year, Hong'an County held a grand farewell ceremony for Han Xianchu.
