Lanzhou, July 14 (Shi Jingjing) The fast pace of life, the pressure in the workplace, the cumbersome family contradictions... More and more people are trapped in a variety of life "problems", causing people to be anxious, irritable and depressed. On the 14th, Yang Shangru, captain of the Lanzhou Psychological Counseling Volunteer Service Team, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Network that in the face of potential factors that induce mental illness, learn to self-regulate psychological pressure and control emotions, and carry out professional psychological intervention when necessary.

Since July, the Lanzhou Psychological Counseling Volunteer Service Team has invited university teachers, hospital doctors, and experts in the field of psychology to form a psychological counseling volunteer service organization to take the initiative to "walk the streets and alleys" to provide professional and normalized psychological volunteer services for citizens. At present, the team, known as the "Mind Catcher", has traveled to 53 communities in Lanzhou and served more than 10,000 community residents.

Yang Shangru said that at the beginning of the epidemic in 2020, many people around them were isolated at home for a long time, their mood fluctuated greatly, and they did not know where to go to find professional help, and there were problems such as psychological anxiety and panic. This made him realize that psychological counseling should be carried out for frontline workers in epidemic prevention and people in home isolation to channel their nervousness.

Under the guidance of the Lanzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Yang Shangru, who has long been engaged in psychological education work, mobilized 38 doctors and teachers with psychological counselor qualifications around him to establish the first psychological counseling volunteer service team in Lanzhou in May last year.

With the establishment of the volunteer service team, the "1+1+N" community service project was launched. That is, 1 doctor + 1 psychological counselor + N volunteers conduct online telephone network consultation and offline community duty services, and solve the problems of lack of medical expertise, insufficient manpower and psychological pressure of residents in the community. During the epidemic period, the service locations covered 79 communities in 16 streets in Lanzhou, serving 28,225 people.

Ma Xiaofei of lanzhou youth volunteer association said that there are various psychological problems in life, and many people still need professional psychological counseling and stress reduction, "We adjust service projects in a timely manner, reasonably plan service radius, and participate in community co-construction."

This year, the Lanzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the volunteer service team jointly held the "Psychological Consultation and Consultation" into the community activity.

"Parental anxiety, husband and wife feelings, and mother-in-law relationship are the three major topics of community consultation." Volunteer Cao Xuefei said that many residents confided in the volunteer team and showed emotional anxiety about their children's procrastination, partial learning, and unwillingness to communicate with parents.

Yang Shangru suggested that the age of adolescence is originally a relatively special period. For parents, they should learn to let go, allow their children to self-control, and allow their children to make mistakes, which will help him a lot in his future growth. At the same time, it should be recognized that exam learning is a child's business, and parents should not overly intervene and ask for it.

"Different ages face different mental health issues." Yang Shangru said that the more common depression, most people think that depression is a psychological disease, in fact, it may also be a physiological factor, which needs to be evaluated as soon as possible.

"Some citizens think that going to the hospital costs money to evaluate, and they will feel embarrassed." We offer free consultations to community events, provide free psychological assessments, and face-to-face counseling. Yang Shangru said that if you are not willing to carry out psychological intervention work on the spot, citizens can also make an appointment through the Internet and consult online with volunteer teachers one-on-one.

Lanzhou psychological volunteers have carried out more than 80 public welfare activities such as public welfare lectures, knowledge popularization publicity, public welfare consultation, condolence and care for the community, covering 53 communities and serving more than 13,000 people in the community. In addition, the volunteer team is also stationed in Lanzhou Youth Home, service window, citizen square, etc. to carry out normalized consulting services.

At present, there are 68 volunteers with psychological counselor qualifications, but mental health problems are common problems in modern people, and mental health work has a long way to go. Yang Shangru called on more people to join the volunteer team and jointly guard mental health. (End)
