4 batches of food are not qualified! Old Shanghai soda biscuits, evergreen biscuits and so on are on the list

author:Southern Metropolis Daily

Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau organized sampling inspection of 935 batches of eight types of food such as grain processing products, condiments, convenience foods, biscuits, bee products, etc., of which a total of 931 batches of qualified samples and 4 batches of unqualified samples were met, except for biscuits and meat products, all other samples met the standards.

Among the 4 batches of unqualified food, the peroxide value of Shanghai Evergreen biscuits exceeded the standard by more than twice, and the old Shanghai soda biscuits were also pointed out to have substandard peroxide values. It is understood that excessive intake of peroxide values may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea and other symptoms when severe.

The peroxide value of a batch of Shanghai Evergreen biscuits exceeded the standard by nearly 2 times

Evergreen biscuits should be a lot of Shanghainese from snacks to large snack biscuits, the old-fashioned evergreen pattern carries the childhood memories of generations of Shanghainese, it is this taste that can not be tired of eating, so until now the locals still can not give up, and even evergreen biscuits have become a must "punch card" specialty of Shanghai tourism. However, in this sampling inspection, the evergreen biscuits (specification model: 500 g/box; production date/batch number: 2020/7/22) produced by Jiaxing Pinyuan Food Co., Ltd. with the trademark "true" and the peroxide value (in terms of fat) detected a value of 0.58g/100g, which exceeded the standard limit by 0.25g/100g by nearly 2.32 times. After nandu reporters interviewed the company, the other party said that it would re-inspect the biscuit.

In addition to the evergreen biscuits with the trademark "Zhen", the peroxide value of the old Shanghai soda biscuits (seaweed flavor) with the trademark "Zhou Shi" produced by Zhejiang Taizhou Hengtai Food Co., Ltd. and the soda biscuits (milk salt flavor) produced by Suqian Huiwei Food Co., Ltd. with the trademark "BaiLi" are also not up to standard. It is understood that the peroxide value mainly reflects whether the oil and fat in the food are oxidized and deteriorated. Although it generally does not cause damage to the health of the human body, it may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea and other symptoms when severe. The reason why the peroxide value exceeds the standard may be that the oil used in the product has deteriorated, or the environmental conditions in the product storage process are improperly controlled, resulting in rancidity of oil and fat; it may also be that the fat in the raw material has been oxidized, the raw material is stored improperly, and no effective antioxidant measures have been taken to make the final product oil oxidized.
