"As Mrs. Gan grew older, her physical characteristics became more and more special, and when she was eighteen, her skin was white like jade, her posture was flattering, and her appearance was beautiful.
The ancients paid attention to family lineage, Lady Gan was born poor, just because of her beauty, she was adopted by Liu Bei as a concubine, and the identity of the wife did not dare to be extravagant. Although she did not have the status of a main chamber, Lady Gan often presided over the housekeeping, because Liu Bei was widowed many times in his early years. Since Lady Gan followed Liu Bei, she had hardly had a few good days, and was captured by Lü Bu and Cao Cao many times.
In 196, Lü Bu took advantage of Liu Bei and Yuan Shu's attack on each other, secretly attacked Xia Pi and captured Liu Bei's wife, and Lady Gan naturally could not escape the fate. Later, Liu Bei surrendered to Lü Bu, and Lü Bu returned Lady Gan to Liu Bei, and later Lü Bu attacked Liu Bei again, Liu Bei was again defeated and defected to Cao Cao, and Lady Gan was once again taken prisoner. In 200 AD, Liu Bei beheaded Xuzhou, cao Cao personally led an army to attack, Liu Bei had to go to Yuan Shao, Guan Yu and Lady Gan and Lady Mi were all captured.
It was not until after the Battle of Guandu that Liu Bei went south to Jingzhou to attach himself to Liu Biao, and finally settled down.
