He led me like faith – visit Tao Kan, author of "My Great-Grandfather Mr. Tao Xingzhi"

　　A few days ago, when the reporter interviewed at the Shanghai Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall, he learned that the new book "My Great-Grandfather Mr. Tao Xingzhi" compiled by Mr. Tao Xingzhi's great-grandson Tao Kan was officially published and distributed at the end of September, which was a gift for the 130th anniversary of Mr. Tao Xingzhi's birth on October 18.

　　Mr. Tao Xingzhi is a native of Shexian County, an educator and thinker of the Chinese, a great democratic fighter, a patriot, and one of the main leaders of the Chinese People's Salvation Congress and the China Democratic League. In his short life, he "came with a heart", and in the era of war, he devoted himself to national education, and was praised by Comrade Mao Zedong as "a great people's educator", Zhou Enlai called him "a non-party Bolshevik who followed the party without reservation", and Song Qingling called him "the master of all ages".

　　Tao Kan after "85", the fourth generation of Tao Xingzhi, chose to engage in education after graduating from university, and is now the deputy director of the Shanghai Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall, the director of the China Tao Xingzhi Research Association, the chairman of the Shanghai Tao Xingzhi Education Promotion Association, the member of the Shanghai Youth Federation, and the member of the Basic Education Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. Wrote the book "My Great-Grandfather Mr. Tao Xingzhi", which Tao Kan spent more than three years. The book consists of seven chapters and 340,000 words.

　　This year marks the 130th anniversary of Mr. Tao Xingzhi's birth and the 75th anniversary of Mr. Tao Xingzhi's death, and Tao Kan said in his preface that the choice of teaching profession was more due to the influence of his family and the reverence for his great-grandfather. The reason for the publication of the book is that in the process of teaching and self-continuous learning, I was more and more deeply attracted by the personality charm of my great-grandfather, who used him as a guiding light for teaching and realized the value of educators. As the great-grandson of Mr. Tao Xingzhi, Tao Kan is well aware of his responsibilities, and while doing his job well, he constantly strives to improve himself in order to better give back to the society, spread the fire of Xingzhi, and serve the people.

　　"The great-grandfather's ability to have the feeling of 'loving the world' is closely related to the Huizhou educational and cultural soil where he was born in the 'village of ten households and does not waste reading'. In my mind, my great-grandfather, Mr. Tao Xingzhi, was a great figure who made me proud and loved. His personality is noble and charismatic, his thinking is scientific and forward-looking, his creative practice is diverse and remarkable, his personality is ordinary and great, and he leads me like faith. Therefore, in the future journey of life, I will definitely take my great-grandfather as an example, learn from his spirit of seeking truth, continue to cultivate myself, and strive to integrate the lofty spirit of my great-grandfather into all aspects of my study and work life. Tao Kan said frankly.
