Changsha County in the Jin Dynasty originally belonged to Jingzhou, with ten counties under its jurisdiction, namely Linxiang, You, Xiajun, Liling, Liuyang, Jianning, Wuchang, Luo, Puyi and Baling. During the reign of Emperor Huai of Jin, it was divided into part of Xiang Prefecture. The Duke of Changsha Was the title of Tao Kan of Tao Yuanming's ancestor.

Huangong of Changsha - Tao Kan. Tao Kan Character Shi Xing (一作士衡). Originally from Oyang County, Poyang County, he later moved to Xunyang County, Lujiang County. Tao Kan was born in a cold door, so he could only serve as a county magistrate. Fortunately, Tao Kan has a good mother, cut off his long hair and sells it to others to make wigs, in exchange for wine and vegetables to help Tao Kan develop contacts. After some operation, Tao Kan was promoted as a filial piety and came to Luoyang. Although he was appreciated by Zhang Hua and entered the Sun Xiu Mansion of the Eastern Wu Sect, Tao Kan's career path was still average.
Until Zhang Chang gathered the crowd to rebel, Tao Kan participated in the campaign to quell the rebellion under Liu Hong, Tao Kan was awarded the title of Marquis of Dongxiang for military merit, and there were 1,000 households in Yiyi, after which Tao Kan participated in quelling Chen Min's rebellion. After Liu Hong's death, Tao Kan first served as Sima Yue's army, and was recommended by Shi Huayi of Jiangzhou as a general of Yangwu and garrisoned xiakou. However, the relationship between Hua Yi and Sima Rui was not harmonious, and Tao Kan's nephew Tao Zhen chose to defect to Sima Rui, and Sima Rui added Tao Kan as a general of Fenwei by the way, and gave Chi Tang Qu to cover the car and advocate, so Tao Kan broke off contact with Hua Yi and began to cooperate with Sima Rui.
After this, Tao Kan first pacified the thieves and robbers, and then was ordered to attack and defeat Du Tao to launch an attack and defeat him. Tao Kan was also appointed as the Assassin of Jingzhou for his merits, but he was hated by Wang Dun, not only could not go to the post, but also almost lost his life, fortunately, Wang Dun was jealous of Tao Kan's family visit, and eventually Tao Kan escaped the disaster and changed to the History of the Assassin of Guangzhou.
After Wang Dun's rebellion was put down, Sima Shao appointed Tao Kan as the military governor of Jing, Xiang, Yong, and Liang, the general of The Western Expedition, the Assassin of Jingzhou, and the lieutenant of the Southern Manchus, and other positions. During Tao Kan's administration of Jingzhou, Jingzhou's society was stable and its production and life developed. After Sima Yan ascended the throne, Tao Kan was again suspected by Yu Liang, but after the outbreak of Su Jun's rebellion, Tao Kan became the backbone of the counter-rebellion.
After Su Jun's rebellion was put down, Tao Kan was promoted to the post of Shizhong (侍中) and Taiwei (太尉) for his merits, and was given the military title of Governor of Jiaozhou, Guangzhou, and Ningzhou, and was given the title of Duke of Changsha County, with 3,000 households and 8,000 silk horses. Later, Tao Kan pacified Guo Mo, who had killed Liu Yin of Jiangzhou without authorization, seized Jiangzhou, and controlled the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. He also wanted to raise troops to depose Wang Dao, but he gave up because of Yu Liang's mediation and the opposition of Wang Dao's relative Xi Jian. In June of the ninth year of Xianhe (334 AD), Tao Kan abdicated the throne during his illness and prepared to return to Changsha, and then died at Fanxi at the age of seventy-six. Sima Yan posthumously gave Tao Kan the title of Grand Sima and gave him the title huan and sacrificed it with the etheric prison ceremony.
The second generation of the Duke of Changsha County- Tao Hong. Tao Hong was the grandson of Tao Kan, whose father Tao Zhan was killed in the rebellion of Su Jun, and was later posthumously given to Da Hongqi and mourned the son of the world. After Tao Kan's death, Tao Hong inherited the title and was promoted to Guangluxun.
The third generation of the Duke of Changsha County, Tao Qizhi. After Tao Hong's death, his son Tao Yuzhi succeeded to the title, during which time he was demoted to the title of Duke of Linxiang County due to Huan Xuan's rebellion, and Huan Xuan was restored to the title after his failure.
The last Duke of Changsha County, Tao Yanshou. Tao Yanshou was the son of Tao Qizhi, and during his tenure as Duke of Changsha County, Liu Yudai Jin Jian song, his title of Duke of Changsha County, was demoted to the title of Marquis of Liling County, with five hundred households.
