Come with a heart, without half a blade of grass: The educator Tao Xingzhi

author:West Ridge North

When walking on the bustling streets of some cities, sometimes pay attention to the names of some schools, and find that many cities have "Xingzhi Primary School" and "Xingzhi Middle School", and can't help but feel deeply nostalgic and remember Mr. Tao Xingzhi, a great educator in China.

Come with a heart, without half a blade of grass: The educator Tao Xingzhi

The education of the common people and the education of the masses advocated by Mr. Tao Xingzhi is not for the education of the rich, but for the happiness of the masses and the enlightenment of the masses, so education cannot be industrialized, which still has important practical significance today.

He advocated that "knowledge is not a commodity", but that education should be turned into a gift that everyone can obtain and enjoy for free, like air, sunshine, and water.

Come with a heart, without half a blade of grass: The educator Tao Xingzhi

What kind of mind is this? In the Republic of China period, there was such a great vision: "Education cannot be industrialized." It is exactly in line with the policy of decapitalizing education in our country today. Recently, there have been many voices of sympathy for an educational institution on the Internet, because this institution is going bankrupt and undergoing transformation. If the founder of the institution could have had Mr. Tao Xingzhi's half-heartedness, he would not have been cornered. The ultimate purpose of these capital-controlled training courses is not to educate, but to make money for the capitalists behind them, and to treat parents as "cash machines". Another straw has been added to this era when the inner volume is too serious to be repeated. However, China has introduced a policy of decapitalization of education, eliminating this unhealthy trend. Now that I think about it, this is also a continuation of Mr. Tao Xingzhi's universal education ideas.

Born in 1891, Tao Xingzhi, a native of Shexian County, Anhui Province, Chinese educator, thinker, great democratic fighter, patriot, Chinese people's salvation congress and one of the main leaders of the China Democratic League.

In 1908, at the age of seventeen, Mr. Tao was admitted to the Guangji Medical Hall in Hangzhou. Like Lu Xun's initial thoughts, he wanted to relieve the pain of the vast number of working people by studying medicine. However, this is a church school run by big-nosed foreigners, discriminating against non-enrolled students, he does not want his thoughts to be at the mercy of foreigners, and after only three days of enrollment, he quit school in anger.

Tao Xingzhi and Madame

In 1915, Mr. Tao enrolled in Columbia University in the United States, where he studied under John Dewey and pursued a doctorate in education.

In the autumn of 1917, he returned to China and successively served as a professor at Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University, and director of academic affairs.

In 1927, Xiaozhuang School was founded. Tao Xingzhi wanted to train teachers who could run schools and teach in the rural areas of China at that time. Mr. Tao said: "Running schools and transforming society is the same thing, that is, to create people, not to create people, but to create people among people, not to make people who are low-voiced."

Drip your own sweat, eat your own food, and do your own thing. Relying on people and relying on heaven and relying on ancestors is not a good man!

The above is Tao Xingzhi's poem encouraging students.

Ever since my father became a master, everyone called me Young Master Kuo. Who knows if I still pour my own face wash water, far better than going to a school. Read love letters in class, pay homage to Miss after class; I am not happy to make a storm, and I want the instructors to be afraid of me as my son is afraid of Daddy! Please look at today's traitor, which one is not the young master of the double material of that year?

This poem was taught by Mr. Tao Xingzhi not to be a "young master of double materials".

In 1935, under the inspiration of the "August 1st Declaration" of the Communist Party of China, he actively participated in the anti-Japanese salvation movement.

In 1945, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Chinese Democratic League and chairman of the Education Committee.

On the night before Mr. Tao Xingzhi's death, he wrote for five consecutive hours in order to sell words to raise funds for the Yucai School

Flow, the chasm of blood, Make the civil war impossible to cross, that China will not be destroyed; Die, dead bodies like ladders, Layer by layer, Let the god of freedom come down quickly, China will not be divided.

The next day, Mr. Li died of overwork and cerebral hemorrhage, which was mr. Wang's sentence: "Life comes for a big thing, go for a big thing."
