After a gentle autumn rain, the wind carries a fresh earthy smell and the aroma of ripe fruit, wafting in the slightly dry air, making people feel particularly comfortable. Looking at this scene of harvest, everyone's face showed a cheerful smile, in this golden autumn October, we walked into the hometown of Lingnan Chinese painting master Guan Shanyue, and the master came to a spiritual collision.

Napeng Village is located in the southwest of Jiangcheng District of Yangjiang City, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and a beautiful natural environment. Walking on the village path of Napeng Village, all that comes into view is the beautiful countryside, clean and tidy roads farmland, ponds surrounding the village, birds and cicadas in the forest, village murals are dazzling, classical green bricks and gray tiles are connected...

Napeng Village is the former residence of Mr. Guan Shanyue, a famous painter in China, from the moment you enter the township, you can feel the strong poetic feeling, and many landscape paintings are painted on the walls of the small houses on the side of the road, setting off the wildflowers in the countryside, and the body and mind are soothed on the road. All the way in, you can see a clean and tidy new village road, along the village road we continue to move forward, you can reach the water lily pond, Guan Shanyue's former residence and other tourist punch points.

Introduced by the villagers, the famous Chinese painting master Guan Shanyue Hometown - Napeng Village, to create a rural tourism economy, so that the village continues to show a new look to achieve strong agriculture, rural beauty, farmers rich, recently, Napeng Village continues to upgrade and transform, and strive to create one of the top ten cultural tourism villages in Guangdong.

We walked while watching the village head and alley wall painted a lot of ink paintings, feeling that the village has a deep cultural heritage and a strong artistic atmosphere. Guan Shanyue, formerly known as Guan Zepei, was born in 1912 in Yangjiang, Guangdong. Famous Chinese painter and educator. Representative figure of the Lingnan School. He studied under Gao Jianfu, the founder of the "Lingnan School". In 1948, he was appointed as a professor of art in Guangzhou. After 1958, he successively served as professor and dean of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, president of the Guangdong Art School, and president of the Guangdong Academy of Painting. Vice Chairman and Standing Director of China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Artists Association.

Guan Shanyue was born in a family of scholars, his grandfather was a Qing Dynasty pagong, and his father was a teacher. In 1912, after Guan Shanyue was born, this family of scholars began to fall, leaving only a few acres of thin fields, and the rest all relied on his father's whip to maintain his livelihood, and the hopes of the family's ZTE were all pinned on Guan Shanyue. Guan Shanyue liked to draw since he was a child, often painting with tiles in the barn yard and scribbling on the wall with charcoal. But my father thought that the painting did not come out, and he always opposed it, but his mother silently supported it.

Guan Shanyue's family was poor when he was a child, so he tore the spring red paper in the village to soak water to make red pigments, and all kinds of fruits became the raw materials for him to extract pigments, and he always insisted on painting. This is all his mother silently supporting behind his back. Sometimes, the old man walks more than 40 miles to the mountain to cut firewood, and then walks more than 20 miles to sell, and exchanges his hard-earned money for a knife or two of bamboo paper. At that time, there was no notation, no picture book, Guan Shanyue painted whatever he saw, and everything in his life was his subject matter.

Walk through deep alleys. Guan Shanyue's former residence comes into view, the green brick and wooden beam bungalow, divided into two areas, the living hall and the works hall, and a plaque engraved with the words "Guan Shanyue's former residence" hangs on the side of the door.

Guan Shanyue's former residence is simply decorated, green bricks and gray tiles, and has been built into a living hall and exhibition hall, covering an area of 120 square meters. Some of Master Guan Shanyue's daily necessities and masterpieces are exhibited in the museum.

The room has two bedrooms and a living room, a kitchen, and a patio. The square brick floor contrasts with the calligraphy and painting hanging on the wall, the kerosene lamp and radio in the study (picture 2), the large-flower porcelain washbasin in the bedroom (picture 1), the old-fashioned stove and the cauldron in the kitchen (picture 4), and the old objects that exude a sense of simplicity and age, recording history and restoring the scene of Mr. Guan Shanyue's childhood life.

The museum of works shows that Guan Shanyue's representative works (reproductions) of various periods, whether they are works halls or life halls, exude a strong atmosphere of books.

Guan Shanyue's large number of popular works are a perfect combination of a distinct spirit of the times and personal artistic skills. In the art world, it is generally believed that Guan Shanyue's Chinese painting breaks through the plain and high yuan of traditional landscape painting, absorbs the elements of Western painting in perspective, has a light and shadow effect, but at the same time retains the charm of Chinese painting, combines Western painting and Chinese painting tradition perfectly, and is professionally recognized. The museum displays representative works (reproductions) of Guan Shanyue's various periods.
