Hewan Cottage is the second batch of traditional Chinese villages, with the reputation of the most beautiful Tujia cottage in China, and it is full of traditional Tujia stilted buildings. In recent years, the local area has continuously strengthened the protection of traditional villages, developed the cultural tourism industry according to local conditions, and rejuvenated the ancient villages, which have become well-known tourist destinations.
Located in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains in southeast Chongqing, Youyang has a rich ethnic minority culture and a large number of well-preserved ethnic minority characteristic villages, including 41 traditional Chinese villages and 5 traditional villages in Chongqing, accounting for nearly a quarter of the city's total.

In the past year, Youyang has solidly promoted the five-year action to improve the rural living environment, deepened the "three revolutions" of garbage, toilets and sewage, carried out 7 rural black and odorous water bodies to clear the action, and the pass rate of rural sanitary toilets and the coverage rate of domestic waste classification in administrative villages reached 100% and 85% respectively.
