"Chinese in Africa" is a live-action documentary program, which was broadcast on CCTV News Channel, and one of the episodes recorded the life of Queen Li Hong of Tsinghua University marrying an African boy.

And after Wang Lihong married in Africa, she did a series of things that also changed the local education environment, what is going on?

In 1986, Wang Lihong was admitted to Tsinghua University with excellent grades, which made her the pride of her parents.

When she came to the coveted Tsinghua campus, Wang Lihong's grades still came out on top, and at the same time, she also began to actively participate in campus club activities and made many like-minded friends.

During this time, she met Suma, an international student from Uganda, Africa.

In her eyes, Suma is a big boy who is very serious about everything, always positive and optimistic, so the two fell in love with each other in the subsequent relationship.

It is conceivable that this was also opposed by Wang Lihong's parents, so Wang Lihong and her parents also quarreled. But this still can't stop the two people from falling in love.

In 1993, Wang Lihong chose to marry Suma without hesitation, some people were puzzled, and some admired Wang Lihong's courage. The love between Wang Lihong and Suma is not only a simple transnational relationship, but also a challenge and breakthrough in traditional concepts.

Wang Lihong used her choice and courage to prove that believing in true love should be pursued bravely. Soon after their marriage, she and Suma set off for his home country, the barren and unfamiliar Uganda of Africa.

When she first arrived in Uganda, the unfamiliar environment and customs here made Wang Lihong not very adaptable, and what surprised Wang Lihong even more was that she had ten mothers-in-law.

Suma's father was a chieftain and married ten wives, and Suma also assured Wang Lihong that she would not be like that, and that she would only marry her alone in this life.

At first, the heat, dust, and flies were everywhere, and she had to learn to endure it. For her husband and for this new home that is about to take root, Wang Lihong slowly adapted to life here.

She adjusts her habits, learns the local language, has a good relationship with her husband's family, and is genuinely committed to the happiness of having children of her own.

However, in 2008, Wang Lihong's youngest son unfortunately contracted malaria and died, which was an unbearable blow for the mother.

This was the first time that Wang Lihong realized that her choice had made her face a completely different life.

Malaria may be a minor disease in China, but here it can easily take the lives of its own children. Wang Lihong fell into unprecedented pain and self-blame, she hated her original decision, and hated the land that made her lose her child.

Under the explanation of her relatives, Wang Lihong gradually calmed down.

But that tragedy reminded her that the country's huge lack of health care and education is the root cause of all problems.

The poverty, blood and tears that came together drove her to make up her mind to do something for these children, perhaps to fill the void in her heart.

With this idea, Wang Lihong rekindled her fighting spirit and received her husband's full support.

In 2010, with the help of Suma, Wang Lihong founded a middle school named "Luyangzi Middle School" to commemorate her deceased son.

Efforts will eventually bear fruit, and now Luyangzi Middle School has become a well-known local middle school, where thousands of children are educated and change their destiny.

Many children who were ignorant when they first entered the school finally saw hope in life after the careful training of their teachers. Wang Lihong has proved with practical actions that the meaning of life is not only in one's own gain, but also in giving help and inspiration to others.

The story of Wang Lihong and Suma is like a small fire, bursting out with dazzling light in the wind and rain of the times. But more importantly, they used their meager lives to sow the seeds of hope in this land. Perhaps it is with such people of love and courage that the world has become a little better.
