Wolf Craig Distillery launches its first whisky
Wolfcraig Distillers, which is still in the pipeline, plans to build a new Scotch whisky distillery and visitor centre in Stirling, Scotland. The project is supported by bigwigs including renowned bartender Richard Paterson, renowned master brewer Ian MacMillan, former Diageo production director Dr. Alan Rutherford and former Bacardi UK operations director Ian Lockhead.
Recently, the distillery officially launched a 30-year-old Scotch blend: Wolfcraig 30 Years Old Premium Blended Scotch Whisky. The wine is a blend of rare barrels hand-selected by Richard Patterson and Ian Macmillan, including the first American white oak bourbon barrel and PX sherry and Oloroso sherry barrels from Bodega San Andres in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, with an alcohol content of 46.3% ABV and a price of £425.
According to official tastings, the wine has a rich mahogany golden color; Smell the seductive aromas of Seville orange jam, butterscotch, manuka honey and lemon cake, as well as freshly baked banana bread, sweet pineapple, Devonshire fudge and caramel pears; The palate presents all the wonderful flavors of maple syrup, bitter chocolate, cake and sweet sultan, enriched by caramel orange, crushed almond and napoleon cake and Madagascar vanilla custard; The aftertaste has a rich creamy pudding, gooseberry horn and toffee apple notes, pleasant, espresso and ginger.
Wolf Craig Distillery had planned a £15 million project construction plan including a distillery, visitor centre and event space, but Stirling Council rejected planning permission for the project in March 2022, but it was later reported that a review panel from Parliament was reconsidering the plans.
