On April 24, Beijing time, Izan Almansa, the inside line of the Ignite team, announced on social media that he would participate in the 2024 NBA draft, from Spain, with a height of 6-10 (2.08 meters), ranking 37th in the 2024 NBA Draft ESPN's top 100 prospects.

Almanza, who played in 48 games for the Ignite, averaged 10.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season while shooting 54.3 percent from the field, and he scored at least 20 points in five games, including a season-high 23 points and five rebounds on Jan. 2.

Almanza started playing at the age of 16 with Real Madrid's youth team, then joined the Elite League after extra time in 2021 for two seasons, spending a year each with Team OTE and YNG Dreamerz before signing with Ignite in June 2023.

Almanza also has experience representing Spain at international competitions, having been named Most Valuable Player at the 2022 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, the 2022 FIBA U18 European Championship and the 2023 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, averaging 16.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in U19 tournaments last year.
