Hawkins left the University of Illinois to become the only player in team history to score at least 900 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 100 blocks and 100 steals in his collegiate career. He tested the waters of the NBA draft process last year, but eventually returned to school for another season, and given his athleticism and size, he is considered an excellent second-round player this year.
