At present, the dachun maize in Xundian County is in the trumpet mouth stage to the male extraction stage, which is a critical period for vegetative growth, and it is also the peak period for the spawning of the corn grassland night moth, borer and beet night moth. The larvae of the corn borer nibble on various parts of the corn, affecting the growth of the corn, especially during the flowering period, the corn borer larvae may bite off the flower buds and cause pollination failure, directly leading to a decline in corn yield. The red-eyed wasp is an egg parasitic wasp, and female adult bees like to lay eggs inside pest eggs, hatch into larvae in pest eggs, and feed on the egg fluid of pests, thereby disrupting the development process of pest eggs. When the larvae develop into adult bees, the red-eyed bee bites through the egg shell of the pest and feathers, and then looks for new pest eggs to parasitize, circulating back and forth, so as to eliminate the pest at the egg stage and achieve the purpose of controlling pests.

In order to scientifically use pesticides and reduce pesticide environmental pollution, from July 16 to 23, the Plant Protection plant inspection workstation of The Agricultural and Rural Bureau of Xundian County organized the technical work of controlling corn borers with red-eyed bees, covering Qixing Street, Tangzi Street, Hekou Town, Yangjie Town, Gongshan Town and Jijie Town in Xundian County, with an implementation area of 3,000 mu, a total of 12,000 egg blocks, and more than 12,000 mu of corn borers. It is initially estimated that the technology reduces the use of chemical pesticides by 40 to 50 grams per mu, effectively promotes the healthy development of circular low-carbon agriculture, bids farewell to pesticides and insects, and significantly improves the farmland ecosystem.

Release the red-eyed bee to take 4 bee points per acre of field, pin the bee card behind the middle leaf of the corn, the egg face outward, with a toothpick pinned, the operation is simple, the prevention and control effect is good.
