ð ̈ð Alpine Foothill Express – speeding on top of the mountain

The Alps are tall and magnificent, the largest mountain glacier center in Europe, but such a cold mountain range also has an elegant and romantic way to open up - the Alpine Foothill Express.

The Alpine Foothills Express connects Lucerne and St. Gallen in 2 hours and 18 minutes, passing through the magnificent marshes of the Rotenthum Heights and the small town of Tuggenburg, and crossing the Citter viaduct, switzerland's tallest railway viaduct. Along the way, the most attractive Swiss natural and cultural features are presented.

[Heart] beautiful scenery along the way

[Sun] Rappersville

Known as the City of Roses, Rappersville's public spaces and three rose gardens are in full bloom. Towering above the city and lake, Rapperswil Castle is a landmark of Rapperswil. Standing on castle hill offers panoramic views from the Glarus Alps all the way to the Zurich Heights. The medieval Old Town has become a historic monumental reserve, and churches, chapels and monasteries bear witness to the city's past.

[Sun] St. Gallen

St. Gallen's most famous buildings are the Cathedral and the Abbey Library with its Baroque architectural style, which contains about 140,000 books, some of which are manuscripts that have lasted for thousands of years. The palatial hall of the Monastery Library is probably the most Rococo-style building in all of Switzerland. In 1983, the entire monastery was inscribed on the World Heritage List.

[Sun] Lucerne

Lucerne is the ideal starting point for trips to central Switzerland. With its many painted decorations and medieval style, the Chapel Wooden Bridge is the most beautiful townscape in Lucerne and is considered one of the oldest wooden covered bridges in Europe. Lucerne has many squares and churches, and the Jesuit Church dates back to the 17th century and was the first Baroque religious building in Switzerland.
