Just a few months after its establishment, Solidigm, with SK Hynix and Intel dual genes, launched its first SSD series for data center data centers for the enterprise market, with a capacity of up to 15.36TB, and provided U.2, E1. S and E1.L and other packages to meet the needs of various types of data centers and storage servers.

As a continuation, Solidigm's first products, the D7-P5620 and P5520 products, are in line with Intel-related products and feature a PCI-E 4.0 interface optimized for real-world compute and storage server workloads, complemented by a variety of form factors and capacity options.

According to the information released by Solidigm, compared with the previous generation of products, the continuous read and write performance of D7-P5620 is 7100/4200MB/s, the maximum 4K random read and write IOPS is 1100kIOPS and 220kIOPS, the 4K read delay is 75us, the write delay is 15us, compared with the previous generation, the random read performance is improved by 56%, the random write performance is improved by 53%, and the random hybrid read and write performance of 70/30 is improved by 17%. Benefiting from the higher bandwidth PCI-E 4.0, continuous read performance is directly doubled, continuous write speeds are increased by 20%, and intergenerational latency is improved by up to 76%.

D7-P5520 continuous read and write performance is 7100/4200 MB/s, maximum 4K random read and write IOPS is 1100kIOPS and 220kIOPS, 4K read latency is 75us, write latency is 15us, compared with the previous generation of PRODUCT DC P4510, random read performance is improved by 57%, random write performance is increased by 80%, 70/30 random mixed read and write performance is increased by 25%, continuous read performance increased by 123%. Consecutive write speeds increased by 37 percent.

The D7-P5520 is designed for read-intensive and light mixed workloads, with capacities ranging from 1.92TB to 15.36TB, with U.2, E1. S、E1. L three specifications, can achieve 1DWPD durability; D7-P5620 is designed for mixed workloads, the capacity from 1.6TB to 12.8TB, only U.2 one specification, can realistic 3DWPD durability.

Both products, the D7-P5620 and P5520, use universal NAND flash memory, firmware and master control, simplifying the quality and reliability certification process while ensuring that Solidigm can be quickly integrated into SK Hynix' existing supply chain. Currently, both products are manufactured using 144 layers of 3D TLC flash memory.

Solidigm related people said that relatively independent of SK Hynix's operating model, in the short term is conducive to its consideration of the original Intel customers, technology and product system; in the long run, the two companies' different technologies and NAND product systems are conducive to Solidigm to cross the original production and patent gap, so as to select a long-term technology evolution path that is more conducive to customer needs and their own development, which should be far-reaching, and not limited to Solidigm. It will even affect the entire NAND technology and product system. In the short term, Solidigm will focus on the enterprise-class solid-state storage market and choose the opportunity to enter the consumer product market.
