Western Digital has released two new enterprise-class mechanical hard drives – the Ultrastar DC HC670 and the Ultrastar DC HC570. The Ultrastar DC HC670 has a capacity of up to 26TB, which is quite high in the industry. The Ultrastar DC HC570 has a capacity of up to 22TB.
Both new enterprise HDDs feature UltrasMR technology, which uses block coding and advanced error correction algorithms to increase the number of trajectories per inch (TPI) for higher capacity.
The Ultrastar DC HC670 is the flagship product with a single disc capacity of up to 2.6TB, up to 10 discs, and a hard drive capacity of up to 26TB.
The Ultrastar DC HC570 has a single disc capacity of up to 2.2TB and can carry up to 10 discs, with a hard drive capacity of up to 22TB.
