"Abortion..." Faced with the doctor's advice, the second-born mother chose...

Chen Yan (pseudonym), a young mother of the second child after 95.

"Abortion..." Faced with the doctor's advice, the second-born mother chose...

At 12 weeks pregnant, Chen Yan, like all ordinary pregnant women, conducted a routine obstetric examination at the local women's and children's insurance hospital, but it was this ordinary obstetric examination that made Chen Yan's family start to be unusual in the future.

Ultrasound examination prompts: fetal abdomen and other echo groups: abdominal fissure? Umbilical bulge?

Advice from a local doctor: immediate miscarriage.

What do you mean? Looking at the examination report on the B ultrasound list, the doctor's words are still lingering in the ear: "Miscarriage, this child has a deformity in the stomach, the prognosis is not very optimistic, it is not recommended to..." Chen Yan pinched the report sheet, as if he had lost all strength, the first baby was still good, how did the second baby deform? Could it be a mistake?

The detailed explanation of the doctor could not be heard in her ears, and at chen Yan's insistence, she did a four-dimensional ultrasound examination.

Four-dimensional ultrasound reports show that the fetal intestinal tract protrudes from the abdominal wall and floats in the amniotic fluid. The fetus is diagnosed with a fissure. Fortunately, the fetus has no chromosomal abnormalities and other malformations.

"Abortion..." Faced with the doctor's advice, the second-born mother chose...

Chen Yan didn't know how she got home, she was scared, she didn't want to give up the baby. So she frantically searched for information on the Internet and sought medical treatment everywhere. Later, it was learned that after the baby with rupture is born, it can grow up healthily like a normal baby after being treated surgically.

In many places, Chen Yan learned that Professor Wang Liquan, director of the Department of Obstetrics of the Second Hospital of Zhejiang University, has a very rich experience in the treatment of such pregnant women, and has successfully treated more than 100 children with umbilical bulge and abdominal fissure.

Chen Yan decided to go to Director Wang Liquan.

Under the careful guidance of Director Wang Liquan, Chen Yan carefully carried out the obstetric examination, and the fetus also grew safely in Chen Yan's belly.

"Abortion..." Faced with the doctor's advice, the second-born mother chose...

Although the baby can't speak and can't express, every fetal movement of his makes me feel his strong desire to live. He is still alive, inside me, connected to my veins, breathing together. There was no way I could give him up. I want him to know that there are many family members in this world who love him.

——Chen Yan

At 37 weeks of pregnancy, Chen Yan was hospitalized to give birth and made preparations before childbirth.

Considering that the exposed intestinal tube of the fetus may be damaged during vaginal delivery, Wang Liquan's team discussed with Chen Yan and his wife and decided to terminate the pregnancy by caesarean section.

Sufficient disease communication and notification, perfect preoperative preparation, and intimate psychological guidance gradually eliminated Chen Yan's inner uneasiness.

With the joint cooperation of obstetrics, anesthesia surgery department and pediatrics, Chen Yan safely delivered a live baby, and the newborn was born in a good condition.

The midwife and pediatrician immediately give the newborn a detailed and comprehensive treatment, and the baby will continue to undergo further surgery.

"Abortion..." Faced with the doctor's advice, the second-born mother chose...

Late at night, good news came from the phone, and the operation was very successful!

The stone in Chen Yan's heart finally fell.

01

Abdominal fissure

Abdominal fissure, also known as visceral valgus, is a congenital abdominal wall hypoplasia, leaving a full layer of abdominal wall defects next to the umbilicus, and there are internal organs protruding from the defect, which is a rare abdominal wall development defect deformity.

In layman's terms, the intestinal tubes, livers and other organs that should have been in the stomach come out of the abdominal gap and float outside the abdominal cavity.

02

How to prevent fetal fissure?

There is currently no effective prevention approach. Most of the disease is diagnosed prenatally and detected by ultrasound examination.

03

Causes of fetal fissures

Regarding the etiology of abdominal fissure, there is no certainty, and it is now believed that it is related to the following factors.

First, it may be a genetic mutation or a chromosomal abnormality in the child. This condition is relatively complicated, and the child may have other malformations, such as limb deformities, at the same time as the abdominal fissure.

Second, it may be that women have been exposed to some bad radiation, chemicals, and toxic substances during pregnancy, resulting in abnormal development of the abdominal wall of the fetus, resulting in visceral valgus in the fetus.

Third, it may be closely related to the use of drugs, smoking, alcohol consumption and bad nervousness in pregnant women during pregnancy. Early childbearing (younger than 20 years), low body weight, and malnutrition during pregnancy also increase the risk of fetal fissure.

Children with gastroschiasis may present with intestinal necrosis, intestinal perforation, hypothermia, dehydration, acidosis, intra-abdominal infection, and sepsis, and in severe cases, intrauterine fetal death.

Therefore, once diagnosed, it must be listed as a high pregnancy, and the pregnancy should be closely monitored.
