After many obstacles, the national treasures plundered by the Japanese are about to be welcomed back to China, one by one

Priceless

On the 20th local time, the "Chinese Cultural Relics Return Movement Promotion Association" composed of people of insight in Japan held a rally in Tokyo to demand that the Japanese side return the cultural relics looted from China during the war. At the rally, Professor Emeritus of Yamaguchi University in Japan, "We cannot bring innocent lives back from the dead, but we can return cultural relics looted from China." The rally mentioned that the Japanese side plundered as many as 300,000 cultural relics from the Korean Peninsula, and the number of cultural relics plundered from China is uncountable. (CCTV)

Seeing this news, my heart was extremely excited and joyful, looking back at the past 70 years or so, in asking Japan for these national treasures that were plundered by imperialism in the past, we encountered thousands of obstacles.

First of all, to illustrate a little bit of mainland cultural thought, historical texts have been used to the extreme in Japan. The Well-known Yasukuni Shrine in Japan, the "Yasukuni" in the Middle Is from the "Left Biography" "I take Yasukuni Also" is the meaning of making the country stable; there is a museum in it that is ridiculously called "Youyiguan" which is also from the ancient Chinese book "Xunzi Persuasion Chapter" "Therefore, a gentleman must choose a hometown to travel to a soldier, so he must guard against evil, and near Zhongzheng also" means to choose a suitable place to live, to choose people who are close to the virtuous, to avoid going astray, and to do the right thing. Isn't that ridiculous?

Returning to the theme, in the 14-year-long war of aggression against China from 1931 to 1945, the Japanese invaders wantonly destroyed our culture in the areas they occupied, and on the other hand, they plundered all kinds of Chinese cultural relics and abducted them to Japan. Among these cultural relics, there are classics, calligraphy and paintings, treasures, antiques, inscriptions, and more valuable cultural antiquities that cannot be priced. So why can't it be returned to the mainland?

Reason one: The Allied headquarters has strict rules on the recovery of looting.

For the return of each looted object, it is not only necessary to apply in writing, fill in the form, attach an explanation, such as the name of the lost cultural relics, the age of production, the characteristics, the size, the weight, etc., it is best to have a photo, and the looted cultural relics are required to list the original person, where they were originally, when they were robbed, such as being robbed by the Japanese army, and asking to say the number, etc., but also to pay the verification document as important. At that time, the mainland was in turmoil, and declaring according to the requirements here was tantamount to saying, "You can't say what the lost cultural relics look like, you can't be sure that it's yours."

Second, China has been infringed upon by Japan for the longest time, has been robbed the most, and has a wide range of investigations and recourse; if the Japanese Government does not actively cooperate and relies solely on a small number of Chinese experts in foreign countries to run away, it will not be able to do its best.

In this regard, the League General Assembly has no further measures, and as usual, it does not allow the applicant country to directly pursue or investigate the Japanese, and with such restrictions, of course, there is no hope of recovering a large amount of looted goods. ”

Third, the division of the time of the Sino-Japanese war by the United States and other countries and the change in attitude toward Japan are also an important reason why the mainland's recovery of looting cannot be realized as scheduled.

On June 23, 1949, when the Far East Commission put forward a vote on the compensation bill for cultural relics, although 9 of the 11 countries were in favor (the former Soviet Union abstained), the case was shelved because the United States used the veto power.

What are the cultural relics currently counted in Japan by the mainland?

1. From October 26, 1945, the investigation and registration of cultural relics losses began nationwide. The Warring States Bronze Ding exhibited at the Tokyo Museum was excavated from the Zhujia collection in Shou County, Anhui Province.

2. In order to find and discover the whereabouts of the stolen cultural relics in Japan and to declare and claim them to the Headquarters of the Allied Forces, the relevant personnel of the Chinese delegation to Japan of the Allied Countries Control Committee on Cultural Relics in Japan will travel in many directions to find clues.

In order to find the fossils of the "Peking Man", Li Ji, together with Japanese archaeologists Shujin Harada, Yoshitaro Hiraji and others, searched for the whereabouts, and the Japanese insisted that they had not been transported to Japan.

Although the fossils of the "Peking Man" could not be found, they also recovered a batch of fossils excavated from Zhoukoudian and transported them back to China in 10 boxes and returned to the Beiping Geological Institute. Some of the antiquities excavated by Shuino Kiyochi and Toshio Nagahiro of Tokyo Imperial University in Japan have also been recovered.

The Central Library transferred more than 35,000 volumes of the Four Libraries and other rare books of the Feng Pingshan Library in Hong Kong, which were seized by the Japanese army after being abducted and transported to Japan, and were also seized by Commissioner Liu Zenghua at the Ueno Park Imperial Library and Isehara.

The 58 scrolls of the silk paintings in the Shenyang Museum (including 27 scrolls of Ming and Qing embroidery), the fine works of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the antiquities of the Qing Palace, were collected by Zhu Qizhao; later Zhu Qizhao resold Zhang Sanshetang, and later Zhang Shi donated them to the Shenyang Museum with his treasures. During the war, the museum sent these antiquities to Tokyo for mounting, that is, there was no follow-up.

After the war, Chinese representatives repeatedly submitted investigations to the allies and the Japanese government, but there was no result. Later, after our secret investigation, we found that the ancient paintings were hidden in the homes of people for one day, and after many negotiations, they had to be returned to the mainland.

Professor Liu Wendian of Southwest United University and lingnan university books were robbed in Hong Kong, and after asking the British delegation to apply for return on their behalf, they were immediately handed over to the Chinese side for signature on February 24, 1949, counting Liu Wendian's Song Yuanming edition of 646 volumes of ancient books in 3 boxes, and 278 volumes of books and 400 manuals of Lingnan University in 6 boxes. Professor Liu Wendian's rare books are now in the library of Taipei University of Science and Technology.

Cultural relics are a symbol of human civilization, and the Japanese people have a special love for China's historical relics, which is beyond reproach, and can even be said to be a good thing. But robbery because of love and open fire can only be spurned as a robbery, what do you think of this? Welcome to leave a message.
