The creation of "Five Stars Out of the East" is inspired by the Han Dynasty brocade arm guard unearthed in 1995 at the site of the ancient city of the Western Regions (present-day Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang), on which there are eight Chinese characters in the seal body "Five Stars Out of the East to benefit China", reflecting the ancients' observation and understanding of the convergence of the five planets of metal, wood, water, fire and earth in the eastern sky. The appearance of the highly skilled Han Jin in the Han Dynasty tombs in the Xinjiang region also indicates that there was a close connection between the Central Plains and the Western Regions at that time. In an exclusive interview with Nandu, the chief editor and director Wang Ge introduced that the main creator speculated that this brocade gauntlet may be the thing of the Han Dynasty border soldiers, and thus conceived characters such as the Han Shubian general "Feng", the daughter of the elite leader "Chunjun", and the son of the northerner leader "Jiante". They met in the rich Western Regions, gradually dispelled the barriers, and forged a deep friendship.

In the play, a paragraph of "Splendid Embroidery" is the male protagonist "Feng" reminiscing about the civilization of his homeland, leading the audience to "travel" to the court of the Han Dynasty. Wang Ge said that this dance segment is mainly based on the Han and Tang dances in classical Chinese dance. The dancers dressed in Han Dynasty tunes, waving their sleeves to the magnificent court music, swirling slightly, forming a formation that resembles splendid embroidery and tenon and tenon of architecture, and the sense of atmosphere and square is overwhelming.
In terms of clothing, "Splendid Embroidery" fully refers to the figurines unearthed in the Han Dynasty, and tries to restore the clothing style and posture of the Han period from the style, pattern and color of the clothes, and combines the performance needs of the dancers to do processing in order to more fully display the dance dynamics. Yang Donglin's team, who designed the costume styling for the play, has previously appeared on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala with works such as "Morning Light Song" and "Only This Green Green".
