After nearly 5 years of development, Xiangcheng District has been approved as the first batch of Vehicle Networking Pilot Zones in Jiangsu Province, the only 5G application industry phalanx innovation center in the direction of Internet of Vehicles in China, and the first digital transportation demonstration area in Jiangsu Province.

These industrial parks have also effectively played a role in enterprise agglomeration, taking the Yangtze River Delta Intelligent Connected Vehicle Research and Innovation Park as an example, this industrial park with a total construction area of about 180,000 square meters has gathered more than 60 intelligent connected vehicle related enterprises and more than 1,000 industrial talents, and Geely Intelligent Driving Global R&D Center, Cao Cao Travel National Headquarters, China Telecom Vehicle Road Collaboration Headquarters and other headquarters projects have also been settled.
The result of many enterprises successively settling in is the rapid construction and improvement of the industrial chain of Xiangcheng intelligent car networking. At present, Xiangcheng has initially established a whole industrial chain covering "cars", "roads" and "networks", covering more than 30 subdivisions of the Internet of Vehicles industry.
Walking on the streets of Suzhou High-speed Rail New City, self-driving vehicles with radar on the roof have become very common, and taking autonomous buses at work in the morning has also become a new choice for many office workers.
In 2021, the total length of the xiangcheng unmanned bus line will reach 15.3 kilometers, ranking first in the country, and it has the first 5G unmanned bus in the country for normalized operation testing.
In 2020, Xiangcheng District took the lead in launching the construction of the first batch of 5G new infrastructure vehicle networking projects in the country and the only one in the Yangtze River Delta, built more than 60 kilometers of high-level intelligent networked roads, deployed more than 400 sets of sensing equipment, realized nearly 50 kinds of vehicle-road collaborative application scenarios, and achieved full coverage of 5G networks in the intelligent networked road area. These upfront investments enable intelligent connected car companies to jointly obtain massive amounts of real road test data to improve the automatic driving model and make the technology more mature.
Recently, The Robotaxi self-driving taxi was officially launched in Suzhou High-speed Rail New City, and Suzhou has become the second city to land on Theobotaxi after Shanghai.

Except that no one is driving, the experience of riding the Robotaxi is no different from a normal taxi, and the safety officer sitting in the driver's seat will not touch the steering wheel unless necessary.
Autonomous driving application scenarios like this abound in Xiangcheng, and sanitation vehicles, food delivery trucks, express delivery vehicles, heavy trucks, buses, taxis, etc., have all been implemented.
As a new economic industry that requires scientific and technological investment, Xiangcheng preemptively established the Suzhou Automotive Research Institute of Tsinghua University in 2011 to carry out industry-university-research cooperation with Tsinghua University to promote the research and development of key technologies. In the past 10 years, Tsinghua Automobile Research Institute has attracted more than 20 high-level talent teams and more than 1,500 high-end R&D and service talents to take root here, realized the industrialization of more than 60 scientific and technological achievements with leading and demonstration effects, and successfully incubated more than 100 high-tech enterprises.
At the beginning of this year, Xiangcheng has held a seminar on the development of intelligent and connected automobile industry innovation clusters, and released the Tsinghua-Suzhou intelligent connected automobile talent public service platform, which is committed to creating a "strong magnetic field" for intelligent and connected automobile talents. At present, the construction of a 300-kilometer-long high-level intelligent network road in Xiangcheng has been stepped up, and it will actively explore the construction of global automatic driving scenarios to create an autonomous driving scene city.
