In April this year, the country's first L4 self-driving bus was put into operation in Yongchuan District, Chongqing. On November 28, Robobus completed the exploration of commercialization model and officially opened commercial operation. This move will open up a complete closed loop from technology research and development to commercialization, and further accelerate the gathering of a new ecology of Chongqing's intelligent driving industry.
Robobus, which is commercially operated in Chongqing, is jointly developed by Golden Dragon Bus and Baidu, with a cruising speed of nearly 40 kilometers per hour and a two-way mileage of nearly 10 kilometers. Robobus, which is oriented to open roads, can accurately dock stations, easily cope with bus stop scenarios and more complex urban road conditions, and meet the needs of normal bus operation. At the same time, each vehicle is equipped with a safety officer, which can be converted to manual driving at any time.
Recently, in Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, Robobus was put into operation, and passengers can ride for free. The Robobus can fully autonomously drive without the need for a dedicated lane, and can be mixed with ordinary vehicles in complex urban traffic environments. The car is equipped with an interactive system, so that passengers can understand the itinerary information in real time. The vehicle has been upgraded with safety functions and the autonomous driving system has redundant safety capabilities. When the main system fails occasionally, the safety officer can quickly take over the vehicle. The bus line has also been intelligently transformed, and the roadside intelligent equipment transmits the road blind area information to the car end to help the vehicle take emergency measures in advance and improve traffic safety.
