Baidu led the release of the industry's first series of autonomous bus standards

The series of standards includes two parts: "Autonomous Bus Part 1: Technical Requirements for Vehicle Operation" and "Autonomous Bus Part 2: Automatic Driving Capability Test Methods and Requirements", which mainly regulate the technical requirements of autonomous buses in vehicle basic safety, information security, operational safety, and automatic driving capability testing.

According to previous news reports, many places in China have carried out pilot operations of autonomous bus lines. On June 16, 2021, the Zhengzhou Zhengdong New District Autonomous Driving Line 1 project was completed and put into trial operation, becoming the first autonomous bus line in China for commercial application. Just today, Guangzhou's first L4 driverless bus line was also officially put into operation, and the vehicles were fully unmanned, but for safety reasons, they were equipped with safety officers to take over the vehicles in an emergency. Current self-driving buses do not need to plan specific routes and can be mixed with ordinary vehicles in complex urban traffic environments. As the industry's first series of autonomous bus standards, the release of this series of standards will continue to guide various autonomous bus R&D enterprises to improve their product technical capabilities and safety levels, and provide a solid compliance reference base for further accelerating the large-scale application of autonomous buses and accelerating the full commercialization of high-level automatic driving technology
