Recently, led by Baidu, a number of universities, scientific research institutions, industry enterprises and other joint drafting of the "Autonomous Bus" series of group standards was officially released, which is the industry's first series of autonomous bus standards. The release of this series of standards will continue to guide various autonomous bus R&D enterprises to improve their product technical capabilities and safety levels, and provide a solid compliance reference foundation for further accelerating the large-scale application of autonomous buses and accelerating the full commercialization of high-level autonomous driving technology.
The goal of the "Autonomous Bus" series of group logos "Part 1: Technical Requirements for Vehicle Operation" is to escort the operation of L4 buses, and strive to achieve the safety upgrade and efficiency upgrade of the passenger service of the autonomous bus. "Part 2: Autonomous Driving Capability Test Methods and Requirements" puts forward clear test requirements and methods for the driving automation ability of autonomous buses, and realizes the comprehensive verification of vehicle driving automation ability through a complete combination of site and road tests.
Since the Baidu Apollo project landed in the Beijing Economic Development Zone, it has tested and verified the autonomous driving test roads opened throughout the region, especially the beijing high-level automatic driving demonstration area has started construction in the zone, and Baidu Apollo has also participated in the construction of the vehicle-road collaborative test road to continuously improve the level of automatic driving technology. Based on technology research and development and experience accumulation, Baidu, as the lead unit of this series of standards, while leading the industry standardization, continues to upgrade the product capabilities of autonomous buses, adhering to the service concept of safety, convenience, efficiency and peace of mind, and providing passengers with all-channel entrance and all-weather public transportation travel services. In Baidu's current Robobus demonstration application, passengers can understand the surrounding road conditions and vehicle driving behavior in real time through high-definition screens and voice broadcasts after boarding the car at a fixed station, and immerse themselves in the safety, comfort and technology brought by automatic driving. Through the external screen of the vehicle, Baidu driverless buses can interact with other road vehicles outside the vehicle at any time, share the driving information in real time, and also combine the display of V2X signal light information to maximize the intelligence of bicycles to other vehicles and contribute to the public safety of road traffic.
