On April 20, 2022, the bmw group's new BMW 7 series and the innovative BMW i7 were officially released. Both new vehicles are based on the upgraded next-generation CLAR architecture, and the new 7 Series offers all-electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel-engined drive systems to meet customers' diverse choices. The innovative BMW i7 is the fifth pure electric product brought to China by the BMW Group and the flagship product of the BMW Group's pure electric lineup.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car adopts a new family design language, the large size of the double kidney grille is still conspicuous, and the LED light source embedded in the grille is more exquisite and stylish after lighting. The headlight groups on both sides adopt a split headlight design, and the LED crystal daytime running lights above are matched with the laser headlights near and far below, which further enhances the momentum of the front face.
On the side of the body, the new BMW 7 Series adopts a similar slip-on design, the front of the car shows an upward posture, and the smooth waistline extends from the front to the rear, with a 21-inch wheel rim, which is dynamic. In addition, the classic Horned Chrome trim was moved to the C-pillar, matrix geometric dark grain was added to the rear window, and the new car featured concealed door handles and supported electric opening. In the rear part, the new car adopts 3D stereostemporal LED taillights, and the two sides of the taillights are also decorated with matrix geometric dark patterns, and the overall shape is simple and layered.
At the same time, the new car also provides BMW personalized two-color car paint for consumers to choose.
In terms of body size, the new BMW 7 Series has a length, width and height of 5391/1950/1548mm and a wheelbase of 3215mm.
The pure electric version of the i7 is basically the same as the appearance of the fuel version of the model, and only distinguishes in some details. For example, the i7 front face features a completely enclosed double kidney grille that optimizes aerodynamics. The logo on the front and back of the body is decorated with the classic blue elements of the BMW i brand, in addition, consumers can also choose blue elements decoration on the underside of the air intake, the side skirt and the tail deflector to highlight the identity of the new energy model.
It is worth mentioning that the rear row of the new BMW 7 Series is equipped with a 31-inch floating panoramic display with a resolution of up to 8K, supporting 32:9 mode to play entertainment content, providing movies, episodes, variety shows, children's animation and other entertainment content, and the rear entertainment control panel is integrated at the doorknob. In addition, the rear seat leg rests of the new car support large angle adjustment, further enhancing the riding experience of rear passengers.
In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with functions such as a new double-spoke steering wheel and HUD head-up display, and provides L2 advanced driver assistance functions, and technically has the possibility of L3 level automatic driving.
In terms of power, the new car has fuel, plug-in hybrid and pure electric models, of which the fuel version will provide an optimized 3.0T in-line six-cylinder turbo engine and a new V8 engine, the 3.0T engine has low and high power adjustments, the maximum power is 286/380 horsepower, and the maximum power of the 4.4T engine is 544 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid version of the M760e xDrive will feature a hybrid system consisting of an in-line six-cylinder engine and an electric motor, with a maximum power of 571 horsepower. The pure electric version of the i7 is equipped with the fifth-generation BMW eDrive system, which has a range of more than 600 kilometers, a maximum power of 544 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 745 Nm.
At the same time, the new BMW X7 also officially ushered in the world debut at the press conference. The mid-term redesign of the X7 and the new 7 Series together form BMW's large luxury car lineup, bringing consumers a richer choice.
