According to the news of the National Development and Reform Commission press conference on April 15, since the beginning of this year, 25 new projects have been started in 10 national data center clusters across the country, with a data center scale of 540,000 standard racks, and a computing power of more than 135 billion floating-point operations per second, driving investment of more than 190 billion yuan in all aspects. It is expected that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the investment in big data centers will also grow at a rate of more than 20% per year, and the cumulative investment in all aspects will exceed 3 trillion yuan.

Zhao Zhiguo revealed that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate infrastructure construction, steadily and orderly promote the construction of 5G and Gigabit optical networks, promote the completion of the construction of 600,000 5G base stations throughout the year, cover more than 400 million households with gigabit optical network coverage capacity, and promote the construction of national hub node data center cluster projects. Select 10 vertical industries, form 100 benchmarking demonstrations in each industry, and build 1,000 new 5G industry virtual private networks. In addition, in the first quarter, the problems such as compulsory downloading of APPS were effectively rectified, and major Internet companies were promoted to basically solve the relevant problems, while 2 batches of technical sampling were carried out, 610,000 APPS were tested, and 134 illegal APPS were notified.
