China and the United States talked for four hours, and what the United States wanted, China gave France, and Wang Yi set the tone by phone

On the 27th, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with French President's Foreign Affairs Adviser Jean-Claude Bonnard, in which Foreign Minister Wang Yi set the tone on China-France relations, he stressed that the current international situation is complex and turbulent, challenges are emerging, and hot spots are rising one after another, China is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with France, give full play to the leading role of the diplomatic leadership of the head of state, inject new connotations into the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership, promote the cooperation between the two countries in various fields to a new level, and play an important role as two major countries in response to global challenges. Obviously, this is closely related to the fact that the United States is trying to woo its allies everywhere to stir up regional tensions, undermine regional peace and stability, and at the same time keep attacking China.

It is undeniable that the Chinese side is full of sincerity in its cooperation with France, and when Wang Yi and Bona spoke on the phone, the European civil aircraft manufacturer Airbus was negotiating a potential large aircraft order with China. According to sources, the order could involve hundreds of aircraft. When it comes to this matter, we have to mention that when French President Macron visited China last year, China Aviation Supplies Group Co., Ltd. signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for 160 Airbus aircraft, including 150 A320 series aircraft and 10 A350-900 wide-body aircraft, with a total value of about 20 billion US dollars, or about 130 billion yuan. In addition, Airbus has also signed a memorandum of cooperation with China Aviation Oil to strengthen cooperation between China and the EU in the production, application and development of standards for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), increase SAF fuel production, optimize the supply chain of SAF fuel, and strive to increase the proportion of SAF fuel use to 10% by 2030.

It is worth mentioning that the above-mentioned cooperation is what the United States wants to achieve with China. One of the purposes of U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo's visit to China last year was to ease the inflation problem in the United States by allowing China to buy more Boeing airliners and buy more goods from China. Looking at it now, it is clear that what the United States wanted, China did not give her, but turned to France. As for the reason for this, it is actually very easy to understand, that is, the United States lacks due sincerity in its dialogue and cooperation with China. Such examples abound, taking the recent moves of the Biden administration towards China, including: maliciously hyping up the so-called "China's overcapacity" theory, restarting the so-called "Section 301" investigation against China, deliberately imposing sanctions on Chinese financial institutions, slandering normal trade and cooperation between China and Russia, and deploying intermediate-range missile systems in the Philippines, covering China's coastal provinces and cities, etc.

In addition to these, on the last day of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to China, he and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a four-hour conversation from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 26th, during which Foreign Minister Wang Yi clearly conveyed to the US side China's concerns and solemn position on China-US relations, including the positioning of China-US relations, "overcapacity", additional tariffs, deployment of intermediate-range missile forces, and other issues, as well as core concerns related to China's sovereignty, security and development interests. Blinken's response to China's statement was very perfunctory, not only responding selectively to China's concerns, but also using the old-fashioned "four noes and one no" argument to prevaricate the Chinese side. To put it bluntly, Blinken's visit to China is still at the level of communication for the sake of communication, and he did not give an updated and substantive response to China's core demands. Since the United States has this attitude, China can only give France what the United States wants, and in recent years, there has been a lot of negative news about the American Boeing aircraft, and it is completely reasonable for the mainland to give the aircraft order to France for security reasons. All in all, if the United States wants to get what it wants from China, the first thing it needs to do is to correct its attitude toward China, otherwise it is meaningless to say more.
