It is worth mentioning that the current sales of the Xbox series X|S have exceeded the lifetime sales of Nintendo's previous generation of Wii U consoles, and the lifetime sales of the Wii U are fixed at 13.6 million units.
By region, Xbox Series X|S sales in both north America and Europe have surpassed Wii U's lifetime sales in that market. But there is still a very clear trail in Japan, with the Xbox Series X|S cumulatively selling about 200,000 units in the Japanese market, while the Wii U has more than 3.3 million lifetime sales in Japan.
