This time, GAC Trumpchi has made it clear that the new car will be equipped with a hybrid system. From the side of the EMKOO camouflage photo, the spray on the big "Hybrid" word has also shown this.
Even in camouflage photos, you can still see the avant-garde shape of EMKOO: the front face shape of the combat atmosphere, using a fully enclosed grille design, the latest design language of the family. Futuristic side lines as well as tail wing design, as well as front LED headlight sets.
Let's talk about the hybrid system of EMKOO, GAC Trumpchi claims to be more advanced than Toyota THS?
AT THE 2021 GUANGZHOU AUTO SHOW, GAC TRUMPCHI released the development strategy of "hybridization + intelligence" dual-core drive, and there are currently two sets of hybrid systems: one is derived from Toyota THS technology, and the other is the GMC2.0 hybrid system developed by GAC Research Institute.
The first set uses a 2.0TM engine + Toyota's fourth-generation THS hybrid system, and is currently installed in the second-generation GS8 dual-engine series. Thermal efficiency 40.23%, NEDC fuel consumption 5.3L/100km.
However, the smaller EMKOO is expected to be equipped with another 2.0ATK engine + GAC CMC2.0 hybrid system. The Shadow Leopard Hybrid Version released at last year's Guangzhou Auto Show is also this system.
The fourth-generation 2.0ATK engine, as the name should know, is the use of Atkinson cycle, which is the same as Toyota, Honda and BYD, and is characterized by super fuel savings.
The 2.0ATK adopts advanced technologies such as GAC GCCS combustion control system, ultra-high compression ratio, 350bar high-pressure direct injection system, and the declared maximum thermal efficiency reaches 42.1%. Used in the Shadow Leopard Hybrid Version 0-100km/h acceleration of 7.3 seconds, fuel consumption 3.6L/100km.
GMC2.0 is the second-generation electromechanical coupling system independently developed by GAC, which can be understood as an E-CVT gearbox similar to Toyota's THS. CMC2.0 integrates dual motors and motor control, as well as transmission transmission mechanism, clutch and other components.
The great thing is that CMC 2.0 is not only developed for HEV ordinary hybrids, it can achieve pure electric, extended range, hybrid and other multi-mode multi-gear drive. That is to say, it can meet the needs of HEV/PHEV/REEV models.
In this way, in the future, EMKOO should launch a PHEV plug-in hybrid model.
2.0ATK engine + GAC CMC2.0 hybrid system, which is not the same as bydir DM-i, GAC is more or take the Route of Toyota.
BYD has proven to be very successful, but the technology is good or not depends on the final effect, if the GAC CMC system can be efficient and reliable, it can still be as strong as Toyota. In the future, a single pure electric is not suitable for China, and the hybrid can still support half of the sky.
