On April 7, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.
As of April 7, 2022, the recall will recall a total of 127785 imported and domestically produced Model 3 electric vehicles with production dates from January 11, 2019 to January 25, 2022 (including 34,207 imported Model 3 vehicles and 93,578 domestic Model 3 vehicles).
There may be minor manufacturing differences in the rear motor inverter power semiconductor components of vehicles within the scope of this recall, and the component manufacturing differences after some vehicles have been used for a period of time may cause the rear inverter to fail, resulting in the inverter not being able to control the current normally.
This failure occurs when the vehicle is in a parked state, which will cause the vehicle to fail to start; this failure occurs when the vehicle is in a driving state, which will cause the vehicle to lose driving power, and in extreme cases, it may increase the risk of collision of the vehicle, and there is a safety hazard.
It is worth noting that this is the second time tesla has released recall information this year, and both times the processing method is to upgrade the motor control software for vehicles within the scope of the recall for free through the remote upgrade of the car (OTA) technology.
Tesla reminds car owners that before the vehicle recalls the upgrade software, users should drive the vehicle cautiously and contact the Tesla service center for maintenance as soon as possible after the recall begins to be implemented.
The most direct impact of Tesla's recall on users is that the driving state may cause the vehicle to lose driving power, which means that Tesla acknowledges the possibility of driving failure of the Model 3 within the scope of the recall.
In fact, on the eve of the release of the recall document, a number of Model 3 owners reported that they had suffered a vehicle failure.
Last month, when a car owner in Jiangsu was driving a 2022 Model 3 to leave his garage, he repeatedly slammed on the brakes and then the car uncontrollably hit the wall. The incident was when airbags popped out and the owner was injured.
Tesla officials still used the "throwing pot" skill as usual after this incident, first saying that the owner was too fast, and the epoxy floor paint caused the garage floor to be too slippery. Then supplement the owner only stepped on the brakes at the last second before the collision, which is the reason why the vehicle failed to brake successfully, and before the collision, the double flash or contour lights lit up.
But fortunately, the owner has surveillance video as evidence, and then Tesla changed his mouth to say that there have been two brakes. However, when it comes to the owner's need for detailed data on the occurrence of the accident for rights protection, Tesla staff made it clear that they would not provide background data because there was no precedent.
Recently, there are other Model 3 owners said that driving in the tunnel normally, when the speed reaches 100 yards per hour, the vehicle suddenly displays a screen that shows "the vehicle cannot continue to drive, please stop immediately", the owner slammed on the electric door and there was no response, and finally changed two lanes in a row, parking the car in the emergency lane.
After the incident, the owner contacted Tesla sales and staff, were told that there had been no such situation, it was recommended to contact the after-sales, but the after-sales said that there was no solution, only let the owner call the trailer.
Although it is not certain whether Tesla's recall of 127785 Model 3 is related to recent accidents, it is a guarantee for consumers to check the safety hazards one by one.
Generally speaking, car companies often have large-scale recalls, and there are frequent car owners who are threatened by accidents, which will definitely affect car sales, but with the heat of the new energy market, Tesla sales are rising.

According to the march car sales data released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Tesla sales in March were 65,184 vehicles (of which 60 were exported), an increase of 85% year-on-year. This is the seventh consecutive month that Tesla has sold more than 50,000 units and the second time that sales have exceeded 60,000 units.
In the global market, Tesla sold as many as 310048 vehicles in the first quarter, once again breaking the quarterly sales record.
