Tian Dengwu (1897~1973), the older generation of painters of the Chang'an School in Shaanxi. In the early 1930s, he studied painting with Qi Baishi and became a close friend with Wang Xuetao and Wang Mengbai.
Tian Dengwu's paintings are mainly flowers and birds, and the works inherit the traditional techniques of Chinese literati painting, as well as the essence of Qi Baishi's elderly brush and ink, and the brush strokes are simple and complex, fresh and handsome.
Although Mr. Tian Dengwu was a painter of the older generation of the Shaanxi School, his works were not very prominent in the painting world of the masters at that time, but the red flowers and green leaves, light and elegant and flowing mood in his paintings also had their own personal feelings.
