Notice of the vaccination site of the 2022 polio vaccine supplementary immunization campaign in Aksu City

Dear citizens,

Polio, commonly known as polio, is a highly contagious intestinal infection caused by the polio virus, and a small number of severely ill patients can die due to respiratory paralysis. All children with low immunity are at risk of infection, and asymmetrical brady paralysis of limb muscles occurs after the onset of the disease, the limb becomes thinner, the walking difficulty, and the disability is lifelong. Timely vaccination of polio vaccine is the simplest and most effective way to prevent and control polio, in order to protect the health of your child, according to the unified arrangements of the people's government of the autonomous region and the prefectural party committee, two rounds of supplementary polio vaccination activities will be carried out in March and May 2022 throughout the city.

Vaccinated: Children born citywide from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021. Regardless of place of household registration or place of residence, all children in urban areas can be vaccinated against polio.

Vaccine type: This vaccine uniformly uses bOPV drops/sugar pills and IPV.

Vaccination method: (1) Target children with zero doses of previous polio vaccine, the first round of supplementary immunization against inactivated polio vaccine (IPV).

(2) Target children with a history of polio vaccine immunization are given live attenuated bivalent polio vaccine (bOPV "drops" or "sugar pills") in both rounds.

Vaccination time: First round: March 28 to April 1, 2022;

Round 2: May 9-13, 2022.

Announcement of vaccination sites: There are 152 vaccination sites in the city. It is hoped that the general public will take children of appropriate age to the designated vaccination point to receive polio vaccine after seeing the notice.
