15 December is World Strengthened immunity Day, which was established at the 41st Session of the World Health Organization assembly in 1988 to eradicate polio.
Polio is primarily a disease caused by poliovirus infection and occurs mainly in children under five years of age. Because the polio virus easily invades the human nervous system, it can easily lead to fever, physical discomfort and sluggish paralysis as a phenomenon, and even die due to respiratory muscle paralysis in severe cases. Polio is also known as polio because it tends to occur in children. Polio can do a good job in advance of related prevention work and reduce the incidence of disease.
Some post-80s and post-90s may remember the "sugar pills" they ate at the epidemic prevention station when they were young, that is, the trivalent sugar pill vaccine specifically for polio, mainly using milk powder, cream, glucose and other materials as auxiliaries, rolling liquid vaccines into sugar, thus forming a sugar pill vaccine. It belongs to the first type of vaccine of China's immunization program, after taking the sugar pill vaccine, it can stimulate the body to produce anti-polio virus immunity, thus playing a role in preventing polio. In 1990, the National Polio Eradication Programme was implemented, and the number of cases declined rapidly year by year in the years since. In 2000, the "Signing Ceremony of China's Polio Eradication Confirmation Report" was held at the former Ministry of Health, marking China's polio-free country.
Vaccines have played a decisive role in the eradication of polio in our country. Vaccination is the most effective means of preventing and controlling infectious diseases. The invention of vaccines and vaccinations are humanity's greatest public health achievements. The spread of vaccination has averted countless child disabilities and deaths. Governments around the world have made vaccination the highest priority for public prevention services.
Through vaccination and the implementation of the national immunization programme, China has effectively controlled the incidence of vaccines against infectious diseases.
Our country divides vaccines into two categories:
The first type of vaccine
The government provides free of charge to citizens, and citizens should receive vaccinations in accordance with government regulations.
The main ones are: hepatitis B vaccine, BCG vaccine, polio vaccine, DTP vaccine, measles vaccine, hepatitis A vaccine, brain flu vaccine, Japanese encephalitis vaccine, as well as hemorrhagic fever vaccine, anthrax vaccine and leptospirosis vaccine for key populations in key areas.
The second type of vaccine
Other vaccines that are self-funded and voluntarily administered by citizens. As conditions mature, many of the second type vaccines will also be included in national immunization programmes.
Commonly used are: chickenpox vaccine, influenza vaccine, Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine, oral rotavirus vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, rabies vaccine and so on.
At present, the new crown vaccination of "small vaccinators" aged 3-11 is being carried out nationwide. Some parents still have some doubts, whether the child needs to be vaccinated or not, and whether there are any side effects after vaccination? According to a number of clinical research reports, children aged 3 to 11 years have good safety performance, high autoantibody virility rate, superior immune source, and it is very suitable for vaccination against covid-19 at this age. In addition, 3 to 11 years old children have entered the school, whether primary school or kindergarten, the members are relatively dense, the population is large, once the new crown virus suddenly, the indirect transmission is widespread, can not be effectively controlled, in order to fundamentally relieve concerns, 3 to 11 years old children should be vaccinated.
However, there are exceptions in some cases. Children who have these 5 situations can be suspended:
1. Allergic to the pharmaceutical ingredients in the vaccine, and previously had severe allergic reactions to the drug, such as angioedema, dyspnea, skin eczema, urticaria, anaphylactic shock fainting, acute allergic reactions, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
2. There is a family history and genetic history of neurological diseases (encephalopathy, epilepsy, convulsions, stroke), uncontrollable epilepsy and nervous system diseases, and Greenbarrow syndrome.
3. Children who belong to the acute onset of chronic diseases, are being treated and have not been effectively controlled for serious chronic diseases.
4. Those who have been vaccinated with tetanus, rabies vaccine, immunoglobulin, tetanus immunoglobulin for various traumatic injuries, animal scratching, biting and other reasons, and have not been vaccinated for more than one month, and the vaccination has not been completed, and the new crown vaccine shall not be injected.
5. Recently, there have been colds and fevers, coughs and low-grade fevers and other symptoms.
Children with the above 5 conditions, it is not recommended to vaccinate children with new crown at all, and must follow the doctor's advice and be treated reasonably before proceeding.
