But as a disciple of Confucius, I dare not say that at least one person can do it, who?
Zeng Ziyi: To be able to ask questions is not to be able to ask, to ask more questions than to widows, to have nothing, to be real is to be false, and to commit crimes is not to be corrected. In the past, my friends, I tried to engage in Si Yi.
Who is this friend of Zengzi? He was Confucius's proud protégé: Yan Hui.
At the age of thirteen, Yan Hui worshipped Confucius as his teacher and was known as the head of the Seventy-two Sages of Confucius. Confucius also praised Yan Hui's noble character many times. As a classmate, Zeng Zi also specifically talked about the virtues of Yan Hui, focusing on the following aspects:
"To be able to ask is not to be able to ask.".
Although Yan Hui is superior, he is afraid that he does not know much;
I also have to ask someone who is inferior to me.
"Ask more than the widow"
Yan Hui is very knowledgeable, but he can "ask the widow";
Ask someone who is not as knowledgeable as you are.
"If there is none"
He was very knowledgeable, and he behaved very normally in the world, as if he did not understand anything.
"Literally"
He has a deep connotation and a pragmatic style, but on the surface he looks very ordinary.
"Committing crimes without schooling"
Even if those who are inferior to him do not respect him, he never cares or remembers hate.
These five points seem easy, but even one of them is probably not something we have achieved.
Therefore, Zeng Zi said, my friend Yan Hui, these five points have been done.
His knowledge, his character is evident!
