Yuan Xuefen is one of the giants filmed in the second season of "One Hundred Years of Masters".

Yuan Xuefen (1922.3.26– 2011.2.19), a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang. Yue opera performing artist and former director of Shanghai Yue Opera Theatre. He began his studies in 1933. Its singing voice melody is simple, the rhythm is changeable, the feelings are sincere, and the euphemism is lingering, and it is called "Yuan Pai". In 1946, she adapted Lu Xun's famous book "Blessings" into "Xianglin Sister-in-law", which was first put on the stage of Yue opera and was called "the milestone of new Yue opera". In 1953, he co-starred with Fan Ruijuan in "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", which was the first large-scale color opera film in mainland China.

In 1951, I entered the Yue Opera Experimental Troupe of the East China Opera Research Institute, where the dean worked, and finally realized my wish for many years. The first play I played on the same stage with her was "Acacia Tree", I played the village girl, and there was a scene where I shouted "sister" and pounced on her, which always did not meet the director's requirements when rehearsing the play. She pulled me up to me and asked, "What was your inner activity when you pounced?" I blinked and couldn't answer. She immediately said, "This is the last moment of life and death." "Just say it and show it to me." After she said this, all of a sudden, I brought out my passion... It was the first demonstration she had given me. Later, in the rehearsal performances of "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", "The Tale of the West Chamber", "The Legend of the White Snake" and other dramas, she often asked me inducing questions, enlightening me to get started and enlightened. For example, in the "Grass Bridge" of "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", she asked me: "You see two strange men coming towards us, how should you, The personal servant of Zhu Yingtai, react?" "Give her a question, I will change the original action of just retreating to signal to the young lady first that someone is coming, beware!" And make protective gestures to the young lady. She said: "We must pay attention to the relationship between the characters on the stage, and we must not take care of ourselves and make plays. Another example is the performance of "The Tale of the West Chamber", once she suddenly asked me: "Ruiying, what color of flowers do I wear on my head during my 'Lai marriage'?" "I was asked. She said to me very seriously, "You have done so many movements to watch the warblers dress up from head to toe, but you don't know what I wear on my head." "She just used these highly targeted questions to guide me to perform with a real feeling, and I must really see, really think, and really do on the stage." She also often inspired me how to get into the prescribed situation, how to think about the relationship between the characters, and asked me to be innovative in every scene. Until now, Dean Yuan has often guided me to rehearse and perform. In addition to the business teaching, he also set strict demands on me in terms of political ideology and life. I deeply realized that President Yuan's careful cultivation of our young generation is out of a sense of responsibility to the party and the cause of Yue opera.

The filming of 57 masters in the second season of "100 Years of Masters" has been launched in 2018, adding science and technology, education, traditional Chinese studies, architecture, traditional Chinese medicine, opera, and film, which are planned to be completed one after another, and will be presented with the "100 Years, 100 People, 100 Episodes" documentary, "100 Masters Special Exhibition" and "100 Books Publishing".

The completed documentary "100 Years of Masters" has been broadcast on CCTV (one set, three sets, four sets, nine sets, ten sets, fifteen sets, discovery channels, international channels), China Education Television, provincial satellite television, overseas television stations and other 157 tv stations at home and abroad, which have been widely praised and have repeatedly set new high ratings for similar documentaries. "100 Years of Masters (International Edition)" is broadcast worldwide in 8 languages.
