Nissan's first pure electric SUV model, the Aria, came for the first time.
Car east March 24 news, a few days ago foreign media Roadshow was invited to test drive Nissan's second pure electric model - Nissan Ariya, the most direct feeling of the test drive is that the comfort and style of this pure electric SUV are more prominent.
It is worth noting that the Ariya is Nissan's second pure electric car launched after many years, and it is also Nissan's first pure electric SUV.
It is reported that Nissan Ariya will have a single motor, dual motor version to choose from, the power battery pack has 66kWh and 91kWh capacity options, and the single motor version has an endurance of 470 kilometers (Japanese WLTC conditions).
In 2010, Nissan's first pure electric car, the Leaf, went on the market, becoming one of the most popular pure electric cars in the world, and there was no news of a new car until July 2020, when Nissan announced the launch of Ariaya.
The new car will be officially launched this fall, with a price range of $40,000 to $60,000 (250,000 to 380,000 yuan).
What was the test drive experience of Nissan's first pure electric SUV that took more than a decade to build? Will the listing give Nissan a more advantageous position in the pure electricity market with many players?
First, the new platform to create a 100-kilometer acceleration of about 4 seconds
The Ariya is Nissan's first model based on a new electric platform.

It is reported that Ariya will provide two capacities of lithium-ion batteries, namely 66kWh and 91kWh capacity battery packs, the usable capacity of the two batteries are 63kWh and 87kWh, respectively. At the same time, the new car is available in dual versions, namely single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive versions. Both capacity batteries can be used in either drivetrain.
In terms of power, the Ariya front-drive model has 215 horsepower and 221 pounds of torque (about 230 Nm); the all-wheel-drive version has 238 horsepower.
Nissan Aria has enough power, but foreign media in the test drive, because of some limitations, can not go to the high speed to actually test the acceleration performance of this car. Nissan said that the acceleration time of the single-motor front-drive model is about 7.2 seconds per hour from 0 to 60 mph (about 97 km), but due to the smooth and instant torque output of the electric powertrain, the actual acceleration time of the new car will be faster.
In addition to the test-drive single-motor front-wheel drive model, Nissan Aria also offers an E-4orce all-wheel drive dual-motor version, which doubles the power compared to the single-motor version, providing 389 horsepower and up to 443 pounds and feet (about 601 Nm) of torque, and an acceleration time of about 4 seconds from 0 to 60 mph (about 97 km/h).
However, Nissan did not offer E-4orce model testing in this test drive, and the front-drive model will go on sale this fall.
Second, the power output is smooth and the comfort is more prominent
The route of the test drive is a 2.4-mile (about 3.9 km) long road track on the outskirts of Madrid, Spain. The test drive was rainy and the road was slippery.
Test drive is a front-wheel drive, single-motor model, in the test drive process through the hair card bend, wide road acceleration and other scenes, the power output of the new car is very smooth.
Through the test drive, foreign media believe that Ariya is an SUV that is mainly comfortable and more suitable for home use, and it cannot be called a performance car.
In terms of charging performance, Nissan Ariya's peak charging power is as high as 130kW (CCS standard), and in the case of fast charging, the charging time of 10% to 80% of the 87kWh battery pack is about 45 minutes.
Third, with L2 level automatic driving to support OTA upgrades
For smart driving, Ariya comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 Active Safety Features Kit. Features include blind spot and lane departure warnings, automatic emergency braking for pedestrian detection, rear crossing traffic alerts, automatic rear braking and high beam assist.
Hardware, Ariya is also equipped with parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
In addition, Ariya will also be equipped with ProPilot 2.0, Nissan's next-generation assisted driving technology, which will enable L2 level autonomous driving, allowing owners to choose self-driving on a single lane, and can also perform automatic cruising on highways, and be able to determine suitable overtaking locations based on navigation data.
At the same time, Ariya is also equipped with a remote intelligent control parking system, which supports automatic side parking and automatic reversing into storage.
Notably, this car is nissan's first model to support OTA upgrades.
Conclusion: The electric SUV market is about to usher in new players
It can be seen from the test drive of foreign media that Nissan Ariya is not a model with power as the selling point, this car is modern in shape, the power is smooth, and it brings electric vehicles into people's lives in a simple and elegant form.
After the official listing of Ariya, Nissan will further exert its strength in pure electricity and find its own advantages in the pure electricity market.
