The Japanese writer Soseki Natsume was a teacher for a while. If you delay any longer, only three of the fruit will remain. In the blink of an eye, the fruit on the tree was clean, and it could only be picked up from the ground with a dustpan. Youth is easy to pass, time is difficult, and marriage proposals should be early. The poem begins with the image of the plum ripening and falling, and instead expresses the desire and call for love. Layer by layer, creating a sense of loneliness of "no flowers and empty branches", but also let those unmarried boys have a sense of urgency that the time is not waiting.
The poet Wen Jie wrote a poem "Under the Apple Tree", which is similar to "Plum", except that the imagery in the poem changes from plum to apple. A beautiful girl was working in the apple orchard, and a handsome young man came to her side and sang loudly, hoping to win the girl's heart with his enthusiasm and singing, but "the buds of the branches have not yet opened, and the young man is looking forward to its early fruit", obviously, the time is not ripe, so that "the strange thought girl does not understand, she said: Don't disturb me with singing". In the summer, "the fruit is the size of a grape, and the young man sings and hurrys to pick it." The girl with a full heart could not guess, she said: Don't wrap around me like a shadow. Both "Plum" and "Under the Apple Tree" adopt Beeching's writing style, both borrow objects to express love, the difference is that the heroine of "Plum" has no clear object, while the male and female protagonists of "Under the Apple Tree" are determined. In addition, "Under the Apple Tree" also vividly depicts the emotional development experience of the two lovers, and their love process can be described as ups and downs. When the two first met, the young man did not understand the girl's mind; the girl did not understand the young man's way of expressing love, and also did not understand the young man's subtle intentions, so that he mistakenly thought that the young man was disturbing himself, and his attitude was cold and unfriendly.
