Night Reading (1)

Jiang Baobing

People in middle age, experienced too many ups and downs, accustomed to seeing the clouds cirrus clouds, vicissitudes and mulberry fields, the mood calmed down. In the silent night, it is customary to touch an idle book, under the lone lamp, leaning on the bed to idle reading, relaxing the tired nerves. Recently, You Like reading Song Ci and feel that the mood of Song Ci is very good for my middle-aged spleen and stomach, among them, You Like to read Su Dongpo's words. The night is deeper, the silence is quiet, through the heavy night, the spiritual communication with the sages, through the thousand years of time, to be a confidant of the ages.

"Bu Operator Huangzhou Dinghui Courtyard Residence"

The lack of moon hanging sparse tong, leaking the first quiet of people.

Whoever sees the ghost alone, ethereal and lonely.

Startled but turned back, there is hatred and no one to save.

Picking all the cold branches refuses to perch, and the lonely sandbar is cold.

This article was written by Su Shi in Huangzhou in December of the fifth year of Yuanfeng (1082). Su Shi was demoted to deputy envoy of the Huangzhou Regiment for the so-called "Wutai Poetry Case". Su Shi moved to Huangzhou from February of the third year of Yuanfeng (1080) to June of the seventh year of Yuanfeng, and lived in Huangzhou for more than four years. DinghuiYuan, southeast of present-day Huanggang County, Hubei Province. Su Shi initially degraded Huangzhou and lived here.

The word first writes the silence of huiyuan at midnight. "Leak" refers to a leaky pot, an instrument that was used in ancient times to time water leaks. "Leak broken", the water in the leaky pot dripped up, referring to the late night. The image of "missing the moon" refers to the darkness of the night and symbolizes the imperfection of personnel affairs. "Shu Tong" and "Missing Moon" are held up, and the word "Shu" also has an incomplete meaning. And the dim moonlight leaks out from between the branches, dappled and broken, adding to the poignancy of the night.

The gist of this passage is that in the middle of the courtyard, when the night is quiet and the moon hangs on the tree, it seems that there is a ghostly person who travels alone, like the shadow of a lonely hong. This "ghost person" may be imaginary, or it may be Su Shi referring to himself. In fact, it means "can't sleep at night" and "put on clothes and wander". The seclusion of "ghostly people" also has the meaning of seclusion and elegance. The feelings of "solitude" of "ghost people" must have those who cannot be outsiders.

In the second half, he wrote about Gu Hong, who was terrified and resentful, but refused to inhabit and had to return to the desolate sandbar. This is exactly the portrayal of Su Shi's mood and situation when he was degraded in Huangzhou. In the case of loneliness, the sentence "Picking up all the cold branches and refusing to perch" especially shows the author's unwillingness to change his mind and merge with the world.

The Qing Dynasty Zhang Huiyan's "Selected Words" volume 1 quotes the interpretation of this word by the Yang residents: "Shocked, the wise people are uneasy; turning back, loving the jun does not forget; no one is provincial, the jun does not detect it; picking up all the cold branches and refusing to perch, not stealing to settle in a high position; lonely sandbars are cold, not safe." "Although it is too rigid, it is not far away.

In a symbolic way, the lyricist ingenuity passes through Hong's loneliness, startling him to turn back, embrace hatred and choose a place to stay, expressing the author's lonely situation in the Huangzhou period and the state of mind of lofty self-promise and unwillingness to follow the waves. The author and Gu Hong cherish each other, use anthropomorphic techniques to express Gu Hong's psychological activities, and objectify his subjective feelings, showing superb artistic skills.

This song also has its own unique and wonderful features in art. Huang Tingjian's "Valley Inscription" commented on this word: "The semantic meaning is high, it seems to be non-pyrotechnic cannibalism, there are ten thousand books in the chest, and there is no dust and tacky under the pen, who can go so far!" "The ratings are very high. Huang Tateshina's "Selected Words of Tateshina Garden" said: "Pun on language, Geqi and Language, Si is a supernatural divine product." Chen Tingzhuo's "Words: Daya Collection" commented on this word: "The meaning is lofty, the pen is ethereal, the wording is loyal, it is Po Xian alone, and Meicheng and Baishi cannot reach it." "It's also highly respected.
