Today we come to know the word "Huang Huáng".

【Glyph evolution】

"寅" and "yellow" are homologous in oracle bones, and later differentiated. Yellow, oracle bone refers to the word thing, in the "arrow" glyph (arrow pole) added a circle of finger symbols, indicating that the arrow rod penetrates it, that is, the bull's-eye of the arrow target used to practice archery. The ancients used red mud to smear a circle of red jay color bullseye on the arrow target to make it eye-catching and easy to aim. Some oracle bones add a horizontal line to the circle finger symbol indicating the bullseye and write it "day", emphasizing that it is the target of the archer. Some oracle bones add "mouth" (target circle) in order to distinguish it from the word "寅".

【The Story of the Word】

Huanxi Sha Youshui Qingquan Temple

Song Su Shi

The orchid buds under the mountain are short soaked in the creek, the sand road between the pines is pure and mud-free, and the twilight rain rules cry.

Who says that there is nothing less in life? The water in front of the door is still possible! Hugh will sing yellow chicken with white hair.

Translation: The young shoots that have just grown at the foot of the mountain are soaked in the stream, and the sand road between the pine forests is washed by the rain and spotless. In the evening, it rained lightly and cuckoo calls came out of the pine forest. Who says you can't go back to your teenage years? The stream in front of the door can still flow to the west! Don't lament the passage of time in old age!

Interpretation: This poem was composed in the spring and March of 1082 (the fifth year of Emperor Yuanfeng of the Song Dynasty) when the author visited the Qingquan Temple, when Su Shi was demoted to the deputy envoy of the Regiment of Huangzhou (present-day Huanggang, Hubei) because of the "Wutai Poetry Case". Pushui (蕲水), the name of the county, is now Hubei Shuishui County, not far from Huangzhou.

This word describes the early spring of the south in the rain, expressing the author's spirit of being old and strong and self-reliant despite the difficulties, and is full of an upward attitude towards life. Shangkong writes about the elegant scenery and environment of Lanxi in late spring and March, the scenery is natural and bright, elegant and clear; the lower part expresses a touching discussion, that is, the scene is taken metaphorically, expressing the feelings about life and enlightening people's minds.
