My nephew Ye Yancai recently wrote a book titled "Me and My Aunt Ye Jiaying." I think that's because there was a Taiwanese director, Mr. Chen Chuanxing, who many years ago published a series of films entitled "They Write on the Islands", and I also taught at several universities in Taiwan and published many treatises. Until recently, after I returned to Nankai University in Tianjin and settled down, he made a film about me, titled "The Moon of Water in Hand", and the release of this film attracted everyone's attention, so many people wrote a lot of words about me. A lady wrote a manuscript for me to evaluate, and I was already an old man in my nineties, so she gave the matter of reading the manuscript to my nephew Ye Yancai. He thought that others were inadequate in writing, so he triggered the idea that he might as well write a "Me and My Aunt Ye Jiaying" himself. During the writing period, he accepted the manuscript and serialized it in the China Social Science Daily, which received a lot of attention and will now be published by the People's Publishing House.

Originally, he knew more about my family life than outsiders, and he could be said to be the only person in our family's descendants, whether they studied Chinese major or taught foreign students Chinese professional experience, and could understand my "intention to return to china to teach" in comparison. He was quick in his thinking and wide in knowledge, and as soon as he wrote it, he could not stop writing, and wrote a masterpiece of tens of thousands of words with a sigh of relief. Although his style of conduct in the world is very different from mine, he not only supplements some of my previous accounts with his memories, but also does write his own true observations and feelings.

In his manuscript, many years ago he accompanied me to visit the accounts of some senior scholars, namely, Mr. Xia Chengtao, Mr. Miao Yu, Mr. Lu Zongda, Mr. Chen Yixuan, Mr. Wen Huaisha, as well as my old classmates Mr. Shi Shuqing, an archaeologist, Mr. Feng Qiyong, an expert in red studies, Mr. Chen Shengshen, a mathematician, and Mr. Yang Zhenning, a physicist. There were also several enthusiastic and sincere teachers in Nankai, especially Mr. Qi Shufeng, the former director of the Foreign Affairs Office who promoted the establishment of the Institute of Classical Chinese Culture. The article also wrote about Mr. Cai Zhangge of Canada, who enthusiastically helped the completion of the institute, Mr. Shen Binghe, a friend of Macao who later donated money to build the current Jialing Academy, and Ms. Liu Heren, a Canadian friend, and the students of "Hengshan Academy".

However, what moved me the most was not only these narratives about people and things, but later when he wrote some of the treatises I wrote when I was lecturing abroad, he often quoted works of Western literary theory, and although he was not good at English, he could write down the theories of many English works and the names of the authors verbatim, which also showed his seriousness and efforts in writing.

In short, although my nephew's personality and personality are different from mine, he still worked extremely hard and hard to write the book "Me and My Aunt Ye Jiaying", and at the same time made up for my omissions and deficiencies in some aspects, and it still made me extremely moved!

Accompanied Mr. Ye to visit Yang Zhenning

As far as I know, Mr. Ye and Mr. Yang have never had the opportunity to meet, but they have long admired Mr. Yang's name. In the autumn and winter of 1991, Mr. Yang came to Nankai, and when he heard that Mr. Ye was also in Nankai, he asked the director of the Foreign Affairs Office to introduce him. Director Kui called Mr. Ye first, is it convenient to inquire? Then accompanied Mr. Yang to the room of the expert Mr. Lou Ye to visit, and the two people finally met. Listening to my aunt, I said: At that time, there was no tea in the room to entertain Mr. Yang, so I had to pour Mr. Yang a cup of "hawthorn water" that he boiled himself. Mr. Yang said that he had read Mr. Ye's writings and poems... The two people talked freely for a long time.

Subsequently, as Mr. Yang's birthday approached, Mr. Yang specially invited Mr. Ye to attend the "Birthday Party". Mr. Ye then made four poems and sent them to Mr. Yang to express his congratulations. On June 9, 1992, Director Kui held a large-scale celebration party for Mr. Yang's 70th birthday. At the meeting, Mr. Yang brought the four poems that Mr. Ye had given him, and had asked someone to write them down with a brush, and insisted on inviting Mr. Ye to speak a few words on stage. At that time, Mr. Ye said: The people who came to mr. Yang Zhenning's "birthday party" today are all physicists, there are Mr. Yang's classmates, colleagues, and fellow scholars, and I am a student Chinese, but I can recognize a "semi-identical" relationship with Mr. Yang, because the Chongde School I went to and the Duzhi School I went to were run by the same church, it was a brother and sister school, the boys' school was called "Chongde", the girls' school was called "Duzhi", and when he went to Chongde School, it was when I went to Duzhi School.

Thirty-five years ago, he looked up to the great name, and was collectively called Hua Yan out of Haoying. Extraordinary wisdom through the heavens, mysterious reasoning is not conserved.

I remember that the guests came to me and met in Nankai every year. There was no tea wine for talking, but the hawthorn water was a cup.

Only those who speak differently and rationally can understand this meaning. Hui I jia edited the exhibition and read, and the knowledge of the knowledge saw the high wind.

The first time I was happy to meet the seventyth anniversary, huatang Doshi Shousi people. I am ashamed that the feast has nothing to offer, and the chat will be short sentences to wish Changchun.

In the past, I only heard that my aunt and Mr. Yang knew each other, and said more than once that "Mr. Yang's old liberal arts skills are very good." I think that Mr. Yang, as a world-famous physicist, can love classical poetry so much, which is really an example for contemporary natural science researchers, and I have always admired it in my heart and have always looked forward to the opportunity to meet him.

On October 21, 2004, Nankai University celebrated mr. Ye's 80th birthday, and Mr. Chen Shengshen, Mr. Feng Qiyong, Mr. Wen Huaisha and other people from all walks of life attended to celebrate the birthday, and of course, Mr. Yang also came. But Mr. Yang had arrived the afternoon before and was interviewed by the host of Beijing Television with Mr. Ye, and the two of them had a very historic dialogue on whether science and engineering people should also learn classical Chinese poetry. In the dialogue, Mr. Yang also said that he was studying the I Ching, believing that it influenced the thinking of Chinese, summarizing all complex things as simple, which is completely different from the Western deductive thinking of refining seemingly simple things into complex...

Not only me was there, but also my classmates Fu Qiushuang and Zhang Li, as well as Zhang Li's wife, Ding Lingqing.

At the end of December 2008, Mr. Yang invited Mr. Ye to visit his home and then went to tsinghuayuan "Asuo" restaurant for lunch. I happened to be in Beijing at that time, and my aunt took me with me. On that day, at the beginning of the winter snow, the Tsinghua campus was white, looking extremely elegant and clean, which was the first time in my life that I had entered Tsinghua.
